  • Blogging for money?

Is there anyone here blogging and earning cash from advertisements and sponsorship?
I quit blogging a year ago because it is getting harder to drive traffic to my blog, specifically organic traffic.

Just got back into blogging about a month ago. You are right about traffic, it is hard to drive people to your blog and the competition is fierce. However, if you are persistent and keep plugging away you will see results eventually.

I have in the past, but it's pretty much a full-time job. Even so, at most I was earning about $1000 per month from revenue of different sources related to my blog, but working more than 40 hours per week to manage other bloggers, make payments, do marketing, do website maintenance, and write myself.

Almost the same here! Getting traffic is hard. So, it's very difficult to earn good cash.

I'd like to get $1000 per month, too. If you don't need that blog anymore, please donate it to me! I will keep and develop it well.

I have started working more on my blog for 3 weeks. Not that difficult to drive some traffic (write content and comment on other blogs). It still makes little money (haven't officially started accepting ads), but we'll get there.

                Re: Your Question

Do you want to only limit it to advertisements and sponsorship? There are other channels to make money from blogging, like promoting merchandise or products...

I'm with martez47, we shouldn't limit to advertising only, promoting products using affiliate link could increase the revenue tremendously.

As far as getting traffic to your blog is concerned, one of the best ways is to write an article every day, make sure you "ping" it with pingoat or another blog pinger so that you receive acknowledgement from Google.

Also, once you have 25 to 50 pages link pages to each other on your own website (called on page SEO), because Google will give you credit for this.

I used this strategy on one of my blogs and within three months I was getting about 50 to 100 page views a day on my blog and most of it was from Google.

                    Hope this helps

My first online income starting with blogging, first time hard to getting organic traffic but I don't think about traffic. If you have quality content, you don't need to find traffic, traffic will find you.

I am earning about $10-15 per month from advertising on my blog. I post about ways to make money online and getting about 150-200 unique visits daily on my blog, all are organic.

You're right that it's difficult to get visitors but once you have 15-20 posts you'll see people visiting your site.

It's hard to earn a lot of money on adverts because you need huge amount of visitors. It's better to promote a good product that people would like to buy. And you can focus on less competitive keywords and bring traffic easier (but still not easy). However if you can get a lot of quality content (hundreds of pages) you will drive a lot of traffic from Google naturally. I know one guy who earns around 300 eur on ads from his website but he spend years to get to that point.

New at blogging, new at forum, but OPTIMIST

I am not sure how I will do it but I am going into the Internet huge information base head first. While I have some ideas of what it is, I am sure I will find surprises on the way. But if I don't bite the bullet now, later will be too late. I will follow as much as possible the strategies outlined by Google, SEO advice from many sources available online, etc. Wish me luck!

I agree. Blogging can be quite hard but you just have to have a goal in mind and keep yourself motivated to keep it up.
