How does that work? Is it tied in with your cell phone plan? $30/mo would be awesome as we currently pay over $102 for internet so about the same as what you were paying.

    • This but you'd need a Magenta Max cell service plan as well.

      • Just ordered a new RTIC soft side cooler.
They are giving (2) free insulated tumblers with the purchase.

        • After about a year of waiting since the selections were announced, I finally got promoted today! It comes with a ~4.5% pay increase, and about 3x more responsibility.

I'm moving to Japan for my new job over the next 3 weeks (sadly, my family will stay in Idaho f for the next year until DW finishes PT school) and really looking forward to the new opportunity.

Congratulations on the promotion. Leaving the family is tough. Hopefully you can see each other sometime soon. How long will you be in Japan?

2-4 years, depending on if I get selected for a subsequent job there as a commander.

The good news is that I should be able to fly back to the states to see my family for a bit at least a couple times before they move out to Japan next summer.

Congrats Kork! You certainly seem like you're embracing the opportunity despite having to be away from family.

                • The fan in our AC condenser unit seized - right before a forecast string of 90 degree days and unhealthy air from the Canada wildfires. My neighbor is a HVAC contractor, so was able to describe the problem to him via text while he was out of town, he ordered a part and replaced yesterday just before he left town again for the long 4th of July weekend. System back up and running for $200. Seems like a win, if only based on how quickly we were able to have it repaired.

                        • I got my settlement check today from the Zoom class action suit. I have no idea what the suit was even about but I got a check for $32.32 so it's fine with me. Free money in my book.

I was not aware of this. It is interesting timing for you to post this though. I've mentioned the problems I've had with telemarketers in another thread connecting my cell phone to my home address. Last week I had one call my work phone asking about purchasing my house. I have no clue how those two got connected. That drama isn't for this thread, but if Zoom did sell my information it makes me wonder if that is it.

I get those calls and texts all the time. The weirdest one was I got a call asking if I wanted to sell "my" house but the address they gave was my mother-in-law's house. I have no idea how they connected me to that.

                              • On Saturday I scored a pair of new Nike sneakers for $36 at the Nike employee store. (It helps that I can wear youth size.) I went in looking for a pair of shoes and a backpack, but left with just the shoes since the backpack offerings didn't appeal to me.
