Didn't play Powerball. Got $2 in my pocket that didn't get thrown away on Powerball. I have some shopping to do at Costco this afternoon. I just might treat myself to a slice of pizza ($1.99) for dinner!

Two nice wins today.
1. Got a bill from my dentist the other day for $164. I stopped into the office today to pay it because they're right next to the post office. The receptionist checked my account and crumpled up the bill and said insurance had paid and I didn't owe anything.
2. A couple of days ago I came out of work to find my side view mirror busted up. The mirror itself was intact but the whole casing was in pieces on the ground. Clearly somebody had hit it pulling in or out of the space next to me. It was dark and raining so I just gathered what I hoped were all of the pieces and tossed them in the car. When I got in, I checked and the mirror worked and the turn signal worked even though it was hanging off the mirror. The blind spot monitor also worked. Still, I figured I'd need to get the whole thing replaced which I know runs about $400.
Today, I went out and examined it further and it appeared as if I had all of the pieces and they all seemed to be intact with no cracks or broken tabs. Sure enough, I snapped the bottom piece of the casing on and it clicked right into place. Then I snapped the top piece on and it also clicked right in. Finally, I snapped the "chrome" trim piece in place which also went right back where it belonged. Good as new and didn't cost me a penny. The other car must have hit it in just the right way to pop everything off but not hard enough to actually break anything.Steve

I've already got three deer harvested, probably somewhere around 150# of good, boned, lean meat which will make for a lot of good meals.
Turned an entire doe into summer sausage which everyone enjoys.
Good chance I'll get a couple more yet in which case we will get some brats or other good stuff made.

We’ve been looking to get an air fryer. Today we were in Target and found one we liked. It was $169.99. Since it was cyber Monday, my wife pulled out her phone and went to Target’s website. Sure enough it was on sale online for $99.99 and there was a promo code for 15% off. So we got it for $85, 50% off the shelf price.Last edited by disneysteve; 11-29-2022, 05:43 AM.Steve

My truck wouldn't start yesterday. Turn the key and nothing. I called my friend who is a mechanic, and he told me a common issue with my truck is that the 40 amp fuse for the starter motor will blow. $4.99 for the fuse and my truck started right upBrian

All I had to do was take the cover off then look in the owner's manual for the schematic of the fuse box so I knew which fuse to pull out

Ebike rear caliper brake housing broke yesterday in Mexico, luckily a USA seller in Fountain Valley, CA (Orange County) has a complete assembly. Most sellers are in China which takes months to arrive. This is about my 3rd brake change, will plan ahead and buy an extra set for future breakages. I use my ebike for everything, beach, short trips to CVS, post office, etc. Was planning to go to the beach today and still going to the beach but will pay for parking which I hate at $1.50 an hour, rip off but I have no choice until my new brakes arrive. The ebike is a winner and bought a new one on eBay for $600, this is my second ebike, the first one was $600 as well but sold it. Might sell this second one before the wheels fall off and buy another new one which is my way of keeping up with new models rather than driving until the wheels fall off, I know I'm starting to sound like a broken record but that is my strategy.

Although I don't have or use an ebike, I'm an avid cyclist (classic road bike) .... And you shouldn't be burning through your brakes nearly as fast as it sounds! How long are they lasting for you? Just a year or two? Most disk/caliper brakes should last at least 1000 miles, probably 3+ years for most, as long as you're not riding your brakes too hard or frequently applying them while under motor power. Maybe dirt/sand/debris are wearing them down faster? Otherwise, I'd question the quality of what you're getting...
I've had my bike for over a decade, probably around 500-700mi/yr, and I've yet to need my brakes replaced. In fairness, they're standard rim pads, which last longer (though brake less precisely).... But yikes!Last edited by kork13; 11-29-2022, 07:25 PM.

Sorry I overlooked your question kork and didn't see it until now. The first time I replaced a set the disc pads were worn out (ebikes are a lot faster than a regular bikes both at the beginning take off and once it starts coasting so the disc pads get worn out quickly). The pads aren't sold separately so have to buy the entire assembly which makes it easy to replace. The second time I replaced a set after trying to tighten the lever to get the brakes to grip tighter but I broke the spring lever thing and wasn't able to reassemble (see pic). This 3rd time the internal lever thing moves but doesn't engage the brakes. Complicated to assemble the spring, lever, washers, etc. Easiest to replace the entire complete assembly. Also, the pads itself are different shapes, round, square, triangle, etc.
