My favorite money-making tips!
I have to admit that I haven't looked through all of the posts so far so apologies for any repeats - I've collected together a few of my more fun ideas included in one of my books (forum rules say that I can't post a link yet):
Film/TV extra (up to $100 per hour!!! Jonathan Ross' mum made a living from this)
Academic or Musical tutoring
Purchasing products in End-of-season/stock sales before selling them later on (high-risk and you'll want to do some research on whether there's a new version coming out which may bump you out of the market)
Create online courses (Udemy is great for this)
Write Kindle eBooks - my personal favorite option
Hope that a few of these might be helpful to someone,
Tom

I really agree with you that it's a fine balance as to whether someone is tailored to freelancing or not. I personally prefer the freedom and control of working for myself and not having to answer to anyone else, but some people love to be told exactly what to do and they take pride in doing it well!

I personally prefer the freedom and control of working for myself and not having to answer to anyone else,
When I got too sick to work out, I started up a small on line business selling books and then eventually gave up the books for sewing patterns as the books were too heavy for my arthritis to handle. After over 12 years of this, if I magically woke up healed and nursing license intact (I had to let it lapse since I couldn't afford to renew it and do the continuing ed required) I would not go back to nursing but would continue with my own business where I can wear nightgowns all day if it is a day where I need extra naps, I can set my own work time, goals for the business, make my own rules that make sense to me so i don't have to follow rules that were decided in a committee of people that didn't even do the work I did!
I had for years tossed the idea of my own business around in my head, but until computers and the internet came out, it just wasn't realistic. Of course, at one point I had a husband that was always thinking up ideas of home businesses that I could do on top of working full time, taking care of kids, house and cleaning up after him (and I made more than him). I got tired of his suggestions for how two hours worth of work on my part would earn me/him 50 cents to a dollar! My husband is from a family where everyone has been self-employed, dad, brothers, sister, uncles, himself, so it was a very different atmosphere and I got great encouragement when I did try to start a business because he felt that was the only sane way to make money. And he is very helpful with my efforts as well since I can't do much of anything that is physically taxing.

Re: Ways To Make Money
Hi jeffrey,
Great discussion place i have found on your forum.Great post with great information.
In my point of view doing outsourcing work on others blog, doing blogging and affiliate program are most of the easy and best way to make money.
Another method is online survey, but this part many user get confused because there are many fraud survey company who has snatched the trust of people. But other 3 methods are good enough for making money.
May be you will be agree with me.
Thanks

Ways to make Extra Money
Great thread!
Many of the ideas are still relevant. And that just goes to show that original thinking is overrated. To really make money improve and enhance something that already exists!
Also, I think it is important to have clear income goals. That way you can focus on which ways are most appropriate to generate the cash that you need and want.
Good luck everyone!

There is a thread here on making money on line, possibly a couple of them. The problem is most of the ideas seem to be given by people who haven't actually made any money on line, they have just heard that it is possible, and it is. I sell sewing patterns on line. It has taken over 12 years to build up my business and the first 3-4 years, pretty much all profit was plowed back into the business. Currently I make enough to sustain all business expenses and growth and also help pay bills, save some, contribute to my 401K, and help support a mission group in Laos that teaches women to sew and make crafts so that they can in turn can support their families. I felt that the best way to give back would be in the same niche that I sell in.
The thing you need to understand is that while you CAN make money, it is neither easy or fast. Almost everything you do takes awhile to build up, will require dedication and perseverance, and you probably won't make bucketfuls of money, at least not in the beginning. If they are asking for money upfront, run away as fast as you can.
