exactly, in bad economic times, people still need breaks, but "staycations" and vacations that one can drive to is way more economical then flying overseas.

Agreed as a vacation affectionado. Before with less money we drove. Now we fly a lot more. I think I'm in the Disneysteve boat of my excess money is spent traveling. I haven't totalled what we spent in 2017 but $20k doesn't seem farfetched. I think we're spending more than that this year
