Went thru some tools and the horse shed this evening. Have a pile to repair, to donate to the 4H riding club, and a pile to throw out.

Started the day with 110 messages in my e-mail in box. My goal for the day is to get it down to at least 90. I'm at 92 right now after my lunch break. Back to work now but I'll do more as the day goes on. Hopefully I'll handle messages faster than they come in so I can get into the 80s at least.
ETA: Got it down to 75. Have to keep at it, though. I'd like to get down into the 20s or 30s.Last edited by disneysteve; 03-06-2012, 11:56 AM.Steve

I HAVE to get back to this now that the weather is decent & I can haul stuff out & to the charity shops.
If anyone recalls, last year I decided to donate my magazines (all gotten free or as gifts) to the library in my Dad's senior building. I guess someone(s) else noticed because I am seeing several I do not get and an additional Newsweek in the rack.

Passover is coming, which means hosting 2 large family dinners at our house on April 6 and 7. That always spurs us to do some serious cleaning so I'm sure that for the next 3 weeks, we'll be working on this. I went through a bunch of accumulated mail on the kitchen table last night. I also started in on my dresser again.Steve

Kind of decluttered over the weekend by increasing floor square footage space by installing overhead light which eliminate the need for a floor lamp, and hung room dividers from the ceiling, which also free up floor space. One of the tricks of making a small space appear bigger is expose the floor as much as possible. It's one of the reasons why I paid $$$ for professionals to mount my TV on the wall and thread the wires behind the walls and into my closet where the dvd player, wii fii, cable box hides, thus eliminating the media console table from the living room. The console table moved to my room to store my art projects and the floor lamp is packed away into storage, one day it may get used again by me, or given to my roommate when she moves out, or given to my nephew or niece when they get their own place.

I recently de-cluttered my closet.. I sent clothes I no longer use but are still in very good condition to charity...I'm thinking of getting rid of some make up I have never even used... But I don't think I could send them to charity so I'll just offer it to some friends who might be interested lol

Funny, I was just thinking of reviving this thread.
This past weekend, I loaded up two 30-gallon trash bags with clothes for Goodwill.
Our treadmill is broken and the repair guy is coming on Monday which spurred me to do a little cleaning in the basement. I finally took an old worn out desk chair out to the trash Wednesday night. I also organized some other stuff down there so it wouldn't be quite as messy when he comes.Steve

I filled up two full trash cans and took them to the curb to be picked up tomorrow. I may be able to refill them pretty quickly with other stuff I am going through.
I packed up 3 large boxes full of books to sell to our 2nd hand bookstore. It won't be much $$, but I need them out of the house anyway. I will take those this week.

It rained most of yesterday so I sorted my fabric stash and eliminated nearly half as some projects are too complicated, others no longer meet our needs. I've repaired all the items in the basket but trashed 5 garments which were not missed and won't be replaced for next winter.
How many sheet sets per bed is enough? Do you use the same sets repeatedly or do you rotate from the bottom of the pile? When fitted looks thin or elastic crackles do you retain the flat sheet? Do you stay with sets or use those flat sheets with something else? Took 3 sheets sets, 2 cotton knit blankets & 6 hand towels to SPCA.
