You can't delete you own posts -- only edit. Glad you were able to find what you were looking for

Yes, I don't understand spammers. It takes 2 minutes to send out spam, but only 5 minutes to send out a well thought out reply that adds something to the forum or blog you are visiting. That way, signatures are allowed also. Surely that is better than just sending out spam?

I've often wondered. I get quite a few spam comments on my website and I think, if you just took a minute to write something beneficial, you'd get your link!!

I find most spam posts are foreign speaking. I wonder if people who post just to spam are not making beneficial posts because they don't speak English at all and are being paid pennies to post the link all over. I do know it makes it tough on posters like me with a link that does make meaningful posts that add to the conversation. Of course, I post on boards that I want to learn from and on subjects I enjoy.

An idea to keep spam away: set the new accounts with email confirmation. I registered here and didn't have to confirm my email address. If I was a spammer, I'd be posting a lot of stuff already and then create more accounts with email accounts that are not actually active. Better prevent spam than have to deal with it, especially since VB is pretty prone to this

Is good to know that we have some control here, even because i'm new and other forums that i got in are really disorganized... i see lots of things that don't have a thing to do with the subject of the comunity... is patetic... is good to know that the administrator is controling this.

So just a thought about all this spamming talk. What if someone really has something good to share without any thought of making money from it like say a related article they found online? I think you admin need to keep in mind that people sometimes actually do have stuff to share that they feel is important and helpful. By keeping strict standards where a simple shared link can be seen as spam is insane. I hope this forum isn't one of them because I see a lot of unanswered questions that I organically, meaning just really did stumble across an article, that could answer someone's question or at least get them pointed in the right direction.

Members post links to other sites all the time. We just don't allow self promotion to sites you're personally affiliated to because we allow a link in the signature for that.

                    1. At the top right of each thread, there is a red triangle - click on that and it will send us a notice that there is a spam post. This makes it much easier for us to get rid of the spam posts quickly and is the best way to notify us.

                    2. Do not comment with "spam" or "spam post" This actually makes it harder for us to get rid of the spam as it hides it behind user names that we trust. It also means we have more to delete because we have to delete your "this is spam" posts as well to clean up the thread.

If you have any questions ot comments, please feel free to leave them here.
If I have already commented with spam, then what can I do to make it correct?? Let me know this

I don't see what would qualify as a spam comment made under your user name

                        Is it spam if...?

If I post a referral link to a site that's legit? Obviously I wont post it over and over but?

Yes, as long as they follow the forum rules.

Is there s limit to how often one should post for it to be considered spamming or is it just the quality of the post that constitutes it as spam?
