        Save the currency you need

When i was at university and i wanted to travel anywhere i would buy the currency i needed when i had some spare money. Thus i couldn't spend it. it worked for me and allowed me to head off to many different places, Like trinidad and Morocco.

hop around for the best deals for airfares etc You would be amazed at how much prices can vary. Get quotes and do your sums and book early for the most inexpensive tickets, also departing/arriving between Tues-Thursday will cut the ticket cost.

Yeah, I often use Expedia to find the cheapest flight of the month and try to use my vacation days on those dates. Flights are expensive and every saved penny counts. As well as every dollar you save on a hotel reservation by using a frugal one, which is cheap, but doesn't ruin my vacation. I prefer to have my own bathroom and toilet, as well as AC, but do I really need a special view when I only sleep in that room?

Try and not go in peak season (from June till the end of August & December/school holidays). Check for deals from travel agents.

If you are going abroad then it's good to check some currency exchange and get the best offer.

Never eat at the main tourism areas, most of the time you will save a lot of money if you walk a bit further.

Pack a sink plug - so many cheaper hotels don't provide them and it's a real hassle trying to wash your clothes without one. Taking a powerboard with one conversion plug is also an excellent idea.

I always research the restaurants in a particular area, and their respective prices.

Also do not forget to check time of arrival because if you flight arrives at night it can be much more expensive to reach city than in daytime due to a lack of public transportation and similar issues, especially when airport is too far from a city.

                          Self catering

While you are likely to go for leisure or vacation at somewhere beachy or other natural places, Self catering is a good option for keeping the cost down. Normally, travel geeks prefer apartment or villa rental for accommodation where you can easily manage daily meal (breakfast-lunch-dinner) yourself. In all inclusive package, you have to pay thousands bucks additional for the meal which sometimes you don't like.
Please collect the local market information from where you will buy grocery or vegitables before leaving your home.
