Hello all. I'm new to this forum and I'm in a situation where I would like to start earning a little extra cash by working at home. The problem I'm finding is that there seem to be a lot of scams out there and I'm not in a position where I can lose money on them. I'm looking for real ways to earn money from home. Are there any legitimate ways that you know of? Pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

You need to focus on any marketable skills you have that would allow you to work from home. Do you have any hobbies, for instance? My wife used to decorate cakes for kids parties. Now she sews and quilts and sells bags and blankets from that.
I have a friend who does medical transcription from home.
Selling on ebay and half.com can be a good source of extra income but it does require the legwork to buy merchandise to resell.Steve
* Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
* Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
* There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

Have you considered reselling items from garage sales or Craigslist? Sometimes you can find items that are unknowingly undervalued, and if you are familiar with the items and the market, you can do well. It requires keen product knowledge, negotiating skills, and there is some degree of risk.
Another way to make money it to make youtube videos and monetize them. I do this and get about $120 every 9 months. Not much, but if that money gets reinvested into more videos, it can pay off. All you need is a popular subject and basic video editing skills.
These will not likely replace an income, but do give you a little extra money on the side.

Do What You Love
Think about things that you like to do and are good at. Do make this into something you are going to loath getting up every morning to do. Freelancing and selling things online are the most common ways to earn money, but never invest more than you are comfortable with. A great way to start would be as a freelancer where you can use free websites to make bids or by buying things cheaply online and reselling them.

There is many ways to make money from home, I would know - i'm a affiliate marketer. Although, the program I mainly run does require you to pay a small amount of cash to start. Then again, there is free ways to make a few bucks online. You could try website likes adbux, which you get paid to click links and you get paid when your referrals click links, it's free. You could try ad.fly, which is like a tinyurl that has advertisements so you will get paid. Although most free services require lots of work, action, and involvement with the program. If you are interested in starting a affiliate marketing program, it usually takes a few bucks to start, nothing extreme, and you can usually break even on your first referral which you normally have 30 days to get, so if you can recruit one person in 30 days, you're breaking even, and from there on out, you're making profit. I must inform you of something though. Don't expect to sit back and make cash by doing nothing, it simply won't get you anywhere. No matter what system it is or what job/career it is. If it's a free online system, you're going to have to work hard to make a few bucks, if it's a affiliate marketing program or a MLM, you're going to have to work to make money on those also, it don't just come straight to you, you got to go get it.

There are many options for making money from home:
Affiliate Marketing – Selling products for other companies on a website
Direct sale companies -- There are direct sale companies for almost anything—candles, bath and body, food, vitamins, clothing, toys, jewelry etc. Some people work these as a party plan. Others work the business online or a combination of both.
MLM – These companies include the type of products above, plus financial services
Drop ship – You can do this independently or though some of the companies that have popped up to help teach you how to do this and sources that are available
Fiverr – If you have skills, like writing or web design, you can sell your services for $5. There are some other sites like this but I am not sure of the names. I have used Fiver.
Consulting – If you have skills that can help others, you can sell your expertise.
Tutoring – If you have knowledge in an area or areas, you can tutor. Many parents hire tutors if a child is struggling in school. They also do to expose them to other subjects, like a foreign language. College student sometimes need tutoring in a subject. Another group are people who have come from another country. Some will hire a tutor to help them learn or improve their English.
I found a business that I have partnered with for the past 13 years that
has great training so you are not left to figure it out by yourself. You
can make as much as you want, even a six figure income, based on your
effort. It has an A+ rating with the BBB. If you would like to find out
more, private message me with your email address and I will be happy to
share information with you.
Good luck and have fun

My husband didn't have time for this but took some firewood from a tree guy who left it behind. After he does his business, he's too tired to lug the trees he's cut down into firewood (to some extent). These logs have been sitting adjacent our home for some months now. He just bought a Vanguard splitter so split some today we stacked against the fence. He is planning on selling it all for $1000. It is summer so he is waiting until closer to winter to list it.
The tree guy called multiple times but both knew needed someone reliable who could take the logs regularly which my husband never promised to since he normally works during the day

Originally posted by DaveInPgh View PostThis is not uncommon and definitely a great way to make some extra money. I have received many estimates over the years for tree removal on my property. Some of the companies are happy to offer discounts if they don't have to haul the wood away because they are just too busy to deal with it. Other companies won't because they really want that wood because they have a big demand for it.
This guy is a two man operation who is just too tired by the end of the tree cutting to haul it off.
So he tells his customers my husband would come and get it within the day.
Now he has others do it because he had so much wood my husband couldn't take it all.
It would've ended up a stable, steady source of cash income though.
Especially for someone who lives off of multiple income streams

Seems like in the majority of these discussions, folks are looking for something where minimal effort is required and they can make a bunch of money just pecking away at the computer. These deals are one in a million, and the ones making any money from these deals likely have some specialized knowledge.
Things the average person could do from home typically involve real work. Things like; child baby sitting, detailing cars, tutoring, teach music, pet sitting, repairing things, sharpening tools, cutting hair, etc, etc. are much more practical and likely to be successful for the average person.
