Hopefully this is the right place to post this, if not I am sorry.

I have 3 businesses. My biggest one nearly collapsed not long ago. I got it all out of debt and the books back in the black but now have lost all ambition and drive to move forward with it and am on the verge of closing the doors because of said loss of ambition. Any ideas or tips on how to get that drive back?

Why do you think you have lost interest? Think about why you started the business originally. You must have had some interest or passion for the field. What has changed?

Thats the hard part. I use to love the work. started having good client giving me trouble with VERY late payments. Had to fire an employee who for the most part stole from me by reporting hours not worked. Had to cover some damage to a property which was not bad but all this stuff in one week and ever since I have just dreaded working rather than enjoy it as I use to. Also calls for new business just completely stopped coming in. One day I could not keep up with the work then the next nothing. I have gone several months without one phone call.

Have you read the book "Who Moved My Cheese?" It's a cute, quick read about dealing with change. It consistently stays on the Business Best Seller lists.

How are the other 2 businesses doing? Would you be able to expand them if you redirected your energy towards them?

The other 2 are doing great but they are still in the start up phase so really are not making money but they are not really costing me money ether so that's good. They have a much bigger potential than this one but things have changed since I posted this yesterday. I found out the effective yesterday my job was being eliminated so now I am able to focus my attention only on business. While starting all this I continued to hold down a day job for the past nearly 10 years and work 140 hour weeks. Hopefully losing that day job is the push I need to move forward.

Sorry no business advice. Just--- If you were working those kind of hours, there is no way you were getting more than 4 hours sleep a day. Your attitude and motivation might be much better if you get more sleep.

It's one thing to own a business where you are only employee and rely on yourself for the work and earnings.

It's another thing to own a business and have others "make your money for you"

Decide if that is the issue (the risks of each are VERY different).

              Second issue is selling

I would expect you need to market your company. Soft sales work for consumers, but if customers are businesses, you need to market specifically to these businesses.

Being self employed is not easy, if you have 3 businesses

I would ask are you spread too thin? Can the businesses be combined to point where they can leverage each other (with marketing and overhead).

You can think what you thought before getting into your business. Maybe that same thought you have before will lead you back again. Or did you take down what you have done on your journey? Somewhat like a diary or blog.. You can read it again to find your way back again.

What are your current businesses and what was the one that tanked? There are many tried and true business principles that apply to all situations but you may be able to yield more advice within a specific market.
Staying motivated and inspired, for me is huge. Every. Single. Day. I try to surround myself with physical reminders of why I do what I do. For me that seems to work better than anything else I've tried.

All this could happen in businesses and you may find similarity about your problems among a lot of people and then you may astonish that they reached to their target. Now you need to take a restart and find the fault and make it sure you won't do those again.

All businesses pass through ups and downs, just like life, it's not always success. Sometimes, we're down. But try to realize that this situation is challenging, give your best shot and interest to streamline things and look back to what causes the downfall, seize to bring up your best strategies when your business reaches its peak. When you've already figured out the fault, refine from doing it again and enhance those that help your business succeed.

Marketing your business is really the best way to get people interested in your product. How else will anyone know you exist?
