  • what do you spend on streaming services

I'm curious do you have amazon prime for $120/year? What other streaming services do people have and what does it cost? I'm debating dropping prime when our renewal is up. And we have netflix shared. But do people save a lot on not having cable but having lots of streaming? I've found I save $5-10 on not having cable because of stupid bundle deals. I was paying $70 a month internet only and $75 for cable but the cable we don't watch except sports and even then not that much. How much do people really spend on streaming stuff a month? Or subscriptions?

We have Netflix. I think it’s about $11. I’m not home so can’t check.

We have Prime though I never really thought of it as a streaming service. We do it for the shipping. We’ve had it for years. The first time I ever watched any Prime video was a few weeks ago when we started Mrs. Maisel.

Probably 90% of my TV viewing is Netflix. I’d love to ditch cable but my wife and daughter want it.

We spend $11/mo for Netflix, which we share access to with DW's brother & sister. We also share access to my brother's Amazon Prime account, and occasionally watch something from their streaming service as well... But mostly, we use Netflix & individual network websites (CBS, Fox, etc.) for streaming. And by "mostly", I mean on the 1-3x/week that we actually turn on the TV for an hour or two to watch a show or movie. We don't watch alot of TV, which is why these streaming services are WAAAY cheaper & better for us than cable.

I do Youtube Premium for the $10/month and also have Amazon Prime. I purchase/rent my movies through iTunes. Those 3 alone are more than enough for me. I rarely ever sit down on the sofa in front a TV anyway. Maybe once a week for an hour or two, if that. Most of my entertainment is viewed on my iPad or Computer, while I'm eating or having it on in the background while doing something productive.

This question is catching me at a transition moment. I currently have Amazon Prime, and while I do use it for free shipping and music, I watched video with it as well. However, as it currently stands, I have already watched all the shows that I am currently interested in on it. Instead, I am currently watching CrunchyRoll, a video streaming service that specializes in anime.

The nature of video streaming services out there is rather fractious IMO. In my ideal world, everyone would just go through Netflix, and I would just maintain my membership there. Unfortunately, it is not, and the streaming service landscape seems to be constantly changing.

But to answer the original question, I guess I am currently paying about $15 a month? $10 for Amazon, $5 for Crunchy Roll. In another year, I might have a different answer, but whatever it is, I would like to keep the cost about the same as this or lower if possible.

I just wondered instead of cable if people are spending just as much on streaming services now? Amazon prime, hulu, netflix, plus just renting everything on demand. I wonder if people aren't spending more than cable?

I'm sure some people are but I suspect most folks who have cut cable are saving money by just subscribing to the services they actually use. Plenty of people pay $100-200/month for cable so it would be kind of tough to run up that large a bill with a few streaming services.

No way. I share accounts with family, but even I paid full price for all the services we use, it wouldn't be more than $40/mo which is far less than the cheapest cable package. I don't spend a lot of time watching TV but I bop around between netflix, hulu, and prime. I do miss sports during baseball season but its not worth it to me to get into a contract for 6 months of game watching - rather go be social and watch the games I can't get on local channels at a bar which, even including drink costs, is likely cheaper than a cable package haha

No cable, no streaming, just an antennae. I really want to watch "Midnight Diner" so one of these days I may sign up for a free month of Netflix just to watch that.

I know people who do this. They wait until there are specific things they want to watch and then do a free trial of Netflix or Prime, binge the shows they want, and then cancel.

$40/ month on youtube TV . .during Soccer Season (EPL and UEFA) (NFL season falls in that same timespan.) ... This year I had to have it early because of the World Cup.

Amazon prime comes iwth Amazon TV .. I have no use for Netflix and I can always use someone else 's account if there's a documentary I want to watch

I have the Family Plan with SiriusXM and pay $32. a month for two vehicles. Made a phone call to them yesterday telling them I was thinking of dropping the service because of the price. Thought for sure that by just mentioning that I'd cancel they would offer me a better deal. The guy wouldn't budge though. Not sure what I'll do, lot's of other music options.
