  • About inheritances...

If you stand to inherit a business, how do you include that in your personal financial outlook? Dave Ramsey said it's sick to count on an inheritance. But if it's coming to you whether you want it or not..

    I agree with Dave.
Until the death occurs, the body is buried, and the lawyers and courts get done you have nothing to talk about anyway, so why concern yourself with it.

As a side note .... If the shoe were on the other foot and you have a large asset that you intend to give to a loved one. Why not make the gift while you are alive and have your wits about you, so you can have a little say in how things go down?

nothing disgusts me more than when a loved one passes and every family member turns into a shark

I would definitely want to get my ducks in a row long before death! Plus, I'd like to gift my inheritance over time, rather than face the awful tax backlash. Well, they would face but you know..

My grandpa actually gave my father the business when he was EXACTLY the age my father is right now.
