  • Taxpayers May Have To Cover Octuplet Mom's Costs

A big share of the financial burden of raising Nadya Suleman's 14 children could fall on the shoulders of California's taxpayers.

And that is compounding the public furor in a state already billions of dollars in the red.

Even before the 33-year-old single, unemployed mother gave birth to octuplets last month, she had been caring for her six other children with the help of $490 a month in food stamps, plus Social Security disability payments for three of the youngsters. The public aid will almost certainly be increased with the new additions to her family...

She has set up a website to solicit donations and comments. Interestingly, if you go to the site, you can make a comment but can't read comments others have made. I wonder why?

Like that is a big huge news flash.

I think the doc/docs that implanted her with so many embryos should have to help support her and her children. And, not just through taxes like the rest of us are going to have to.

Who paid for the in-vitro? That isn't cheap. Was that covered by the state also?

Money issues aside, how is this lady surviving? Even with 1 or 2 other people helping? There must be at least 2 or 3 kids crying at any given time, 24 hours a day.

At least in the case of the Duggar family the kids are spread out enough to where the older kids help take care of the younger kids. (Not saying it is right, but at least it is feasible.)
