I have an idea I want to see if it sounds stupid or not, for around $18.00 you can buy brown and black shoe polish and black liquid polish for around the soles charge people $5.00 to shine their shoes, this could be done on your day off go to business offices, malls and ask people. Does that sound good?

Re: Marjorie Challenge Notes
In our area they still have "Shoe Shine Stands", but they are in the business districts, and at the Kansas City Airport, as elsewhere people tend to wear tennis shoes. A good shoe shine at the airport will cost you about $8 plus the tip. They also lint brush you off as well.

Re: Marjorie Challenge Notes
An interesting idea, Gavin. Around here very few places get the foot traffic to support such a venture, and it's a biz that's often done by the unemployed, especially near where I work.
The other thing is that I work fulltime, and also part time as an independent contractor. i also watch my grandson (often referred to in my posts as "adorababy) the nights I'm not at work. Hoping for more I can do from home either to make more $$ or reduce expenses. I also should be looking for more craft fairs locally as that generally helps to boost the bottom line a bit. I don't recall reading your posts before. I appreciate you taking the time and energy to help out with ideas!

Originally posted by frugalelfHas anyone ever checked out "CashCrate.com? I'd be curious to know how legitimate it is. Thanks, Pattie
There are lots around and I am starting one too. What they cannot tell you to do, is to cancel all free trials before the free period ends or else you will be charged their current monthly rate until you do cancel, which is always more than your payment.
You also earn money to click on emails and read them, do surveys (very few), etc. You can also refer anyone else to the site and make a few % of what they earn or sometimes it is a flat $5 + % when they do a cashout.
I have made a few hundred on these type sites. I have made only $100 or so from referrals.
Also, if you complete an offer for a service at one of these sites you cannot do it at another site and get paid for it from both. The company you apply for the free trial will not pay the 2nd affiliate company, so you won't either.
Good luck if you do try it!

Re: Challenge Money Making Idea?
Greedy4chips.....Thanks for the info on "CashCrate" type of deals. Basically, you do have to sign up for offers, which means including your credit card info and then cancel before the usual 30 day period ends or else they start charging you the monthly fee? Is this a risky, pain in the neck venture??
