  • My blog went wacky!

I was playing with some code for a ticker and managed to really mess up my blog. At least on my end. Is there an admin person who can look at it and fix it? I can't even get to what I messed up!

    Wow.

Is it possible to go back to your control panel and remove the offending code?

I can get to the CP and then settings and can remove the code but I can't save it. I mean it is *really* messed up. Most of the CP is missing!

Yeah, I've never seen a blog so messed up before....

Hopefully, Jeffrey and Nate will see it and fix it soon.

I know. The entries are still there but there's an awful lot going on in the settings! Weird. Hopefully they'll be able to help.

Yeah, don't worry. I don' t think you lost any content. Just that the code is interfering with the way the page can be rendered correctly. So, somebody with access just need to get in there, remove the offending code (or revert to a backup copy if there is one) and it should restore your blog.

Exactly what was wrong with the code and how to fix it though, is a different matter.

One thing you might be able to change yourself is the seemingly missing About Me and My Blog Stats sections. The content is still there. If you click and drag your mouse on it or "select all" as though you were going to copy it, you will be able to see the content that is really there. It appears that you have tagged the characters to print white on a white background, which just makes it look blank.

Yeah, I know that's one of the things going on but I can't save anything I do. So even if I can change something, I can't save it to keep it that way.

                  Fixed.

I think the problem was you tried to paste the code in the blog description box but that box only allows up to 90 characters so the code got cut-off mid-way through.

Instead put the code in the author info box and it should work. That box allows nearly unlimited characters.
