    Here’s Why Warren Buffett Is Going All-In On The Commodities Supercycle | FXEmpire

    I currently have UNG which is the ETF for natural gas which I bought one month ago at $13 a share, today it's $16. Here's an excerpt from the article;

    As Commodity prices continue to surge, so has Wall Street’s interest.

    Throughout this year, a long list of leading Wall Street banks from Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan to Bank of America have described commodities as their “preferred asset class over the next decade”.

    This month, Warren Buffett, who is arguably the world’s most successful investor also joined that list.

    Speaking at Berkshire Hathaway’s annual shareholders meeting, Buffett revealed that his biggest investment ever with a market value of over $51 billion is riding on the Commodities Supercycle.

    In the words of Buffett, “the Commodity and Energy markets right now, represent one of the greatest generational opportunities of our lifetime, not to be missed.”

    Will the average person investing in these get rich? Probably not, but there is money to be made, always has been. If you're following the tensions in the middle east, oil rose $1 today on heightened fear of regional war. I'm sure those holding onto oil are pleased with the increase in value of their holdings.
    History will judge the complicit.

      So much of this comes across as get rich quick. Case in point "one of the greatest generational opportunities of our lifetime, not to be missed."

      If you're day trading, maybe this sort of stuff is in your portfolio. I'm not. I'm sticking with, plain, simple, boring, & consistent.

        Yep. This is not how virtually any normal person should be investing. Leave this nonsense to the hedge fund managers playing with other people's money.

          Did Buffet actually say this?

          In the words of Buffett, “the Commodity and Energy markets right now, represent one of the greatest generational opportunities of our lifetime, not to be missed.”

          Or was it some reporters summary of his comments?

              I'm still buying plain old vanilla shares of common stock, although I agree with you QMM, there is nothing wrong with a good quality commodities ETF in your portfolio for diversification's sake.
