The company II IV has an office just north of here. I think they may be headquartered here. A girl that used to work here actually went to work for them a few years ago. I hope she bought some of their stock.

I worked at a couple of these places. Wowie. No wonder some of my friends retired in their 30s. Seriously no joke.

One of them I was 20 and just done with college. This woman was going on maternity leave and likely not coming back. Her and her husband had worked there for 10+ years and made a few million with options. Sigh. LOL. She seemed happy. Not sure what happened after she left. More than a few worked but they didn't have to work.

They always said they were looking for the next challenge. It's interesting. I realize now that people who are successful often continue working because it's fun and exciting. I wish I had been old enough to have gotten in at the right time in some of those companies.

For some reason working seems to become more fun when you don't have to work. Think it's because you worry less about consequences and just concentrate on the challenges. Remember coming accross studies indicating that level of absorption into the work is a key component of work satisfaction and that you become most easily absorbed when you concentrate on the challenge/task, rather than the consequences (as you do when you play a game).

I think that's interesting and do try to integrate that thinking into my work (I have a fairly stressful job, which I can either have fun with or stress out with, depending on outlook). I think it works to a good degree, but it's not always easy to do.
