    Hi,

I'm 23, I have a Roth 401k through my employer where I'm contributing the maximum amount that my employer matches as well as a Schwab Roth IRA which I'm maxing out yearly, I'd like some advice on how to allocate everything assuming I'm not retiring until at least 55.

The Roth 401k is through Vanguard so I'm limited to about a dozen vanguard funds, I'm allocating it like this currently:

33% Vanguard Small-Cap Growth Idx Inst (VSGIX)
33% Vanguard PRIMECAP Fund Investor Shares (VPMCX)
33% Vanguard International Growth Fund Investor Shares (VWIGX)

Here are my other fund options for the 401k:
    Stable Value Fund
    PIMCO Total Return Admin
    Fidelity Magellan Fund
    Vanguard Long-Term Treasury Inv
Vanguard Total Bond Mkt Index Inst
    Vanguard Asset Allocation Fund Inv
    Vanguard Balanced Index Fund Inst
    Vanguard Wellington Fund Inv
    Vanguard Explorer Fund Investor Shares
Vanguard Extended Market Index Fund Institutional Shares
Vanguard Growth Index Fund Institutional Shares
Vanguard Inflation-Protected Securities Fund Institutional Shares
Vanguard Institutional Index Fund Institutional Shares
    Vanguard International Value Fund
Vanguard Mid-Cap Index Fund Institutional Shares
Vanguard Morgan Growth Fund Investor Shares
Vanguard Small-Cap Value Index Fund Institutional Shares
Vanguard Total International Stock Index Fund Investor Shares
Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund Institutional Shares
Vanguard Value Index Fund Institutional Shares
Vanguard Windsor II Fund Investor Shares

I was considering adding the Wellington fund to my allocation, but I don't understand that fund as well. Also since it has a heavy weight in bonds I wasn't sure if I should avoid it for now (see my statements at the end of this post about where I am with bonds). I'm also debating between sticking with the international growth fund or going with the total international stock index fund. I don't see a big reason to consider any of the other funds due to their performance history but I'd like to hear opinions on that.

I'm considering making my Roth IRA look like this:

30% either YAFFX or TWEIX (Large cap value)
    30% MAPIX or MAPTX (International)
30% JATTX or GABSX (small / mid cap)
10% either an energy etf or a fund like ICXEN

Suggestions / changes? I don't have any bonds right now because I think I'm far enough away from retirement I'm willing to be riskier and my understanding of how interest rates affect bonds leads me to assume they won't do as well in the coming years as they have the past decade.

    Thanks in advance!

Nothing wrong with what you're doing of proposing. For the Schwab account, I'd look into using their commission-free ETF's as well. The fees on those are better than Vanguard's.

A small dabbling in the PIMCO fund in your 401k wouldn't hurt just for diversification. Very solid fund.
