    Does anyone have an AmTrust Money Market account? I was just wondering about experiences with this online savings company because there rate is 5.36APY, which is the highest I've seen so far.

    Its a good rate (obviously) and AmTrust has consistently had a high rate over at least the last 10 months or so that I've been paying attention.

    However, I was formerly an account holder and the function of the account and the web site was atrocious. I had wrong amounts credited, lots of occasions where the site did not report my balance correctly, and frequent problems with the general function of the site.

    Even with the great interest, and even though the problems were always resolved, it became an annoyance, at best, and a sign of incompetence, at worst; so I moved my funds and closed the account.

    That's my two cents.

    I know people with a CD through AmTrust and they are perfectly happy.

    You may want to try it out yourself. Perhaps they have improved. I simply cannot say that I recommend them based on my experience.

      I don't have an MMA but I am one of those folks with a CD. I haven't had any problems. In fact, I've found their phone support to be excellent. When I first opened the account, I made a mistake on my online application. I called to correct it and a human being answered the phone. No voice mail or phone tree. The problem was quickly and efficiently corrected. I was quite impressed. I had one other opportunity to call and the service was equally good.

        Yes. I never had a complaint about the phone service either. Except that they were constantly apologizing for the web site. I think the web site is (or was) not an in-house operation but, rather, one of those services that have several banks for clients. That is, the folks at AmTrust seemed frustrated too. But, ultimately, you're quite right, customer service is good.
