Would you eat only at McDonald's for $10,000 for 60 days? I saw this on facebook. That calculates to $166.66 per day which is tempting but still I don't think I could do it.

    No. Not even a day.

Yes...without a question. Mcdonalds does have some normal options now...salads...better quality meats I believe.

You wouldnt have to stuff your face with 8000 calories a day or load up on fries and other carbs.

I enjoy cooking but if that means I dont have to pack a lunch or cook anything for 60 days...im game!

I'd be willing, but I don't know how I could possibly accomplish it just logistically speaking. I don't get lunch and dinner breaks at work so I have to either pack my food (which is what I do) or get delivery (which I do very, very rarely). I also need food that I can eat easily throughout the day. I snack/graze on popcorn, nuts, raisins, fruit, protein bars, peanut butter crackers - stuff that can sit out and doesn't need to be hot or cold and I can grab on the go.

On my days off, I could do it much more easily though still a pain as there isn't a McDonald's that close to my house.

Of course, this would also mean my wife's diet was affected as we wouldn't be cooking and eating meals together.

Wait someone is paying you to eat? Yeah only people from First World countries would ever reject something like this...

At first I thought YES, as long as I felt confident that the entity making the offer would actually pay up. Why not?

Then I re-read and realized that it said "at McDonald's" which I'm guessing it means actually sitting down in the restaurant each time you want to eat? So, no grabbing 3 meals at a time and eating at home or work? And maybe a camera pointed in your face each time you eat?

Since I'm not retired ... no. I think it would interfere too much with my ability to work my jobs which are more valuable to me long-term.

Paying me to eat crappy food that damages my health and well being isn't an automatic win and isn't necessarily worth the money. I just figure the damage done in 60 days wouldn't be that severe. I'm sure I'd gain weight and feel lousy but I'd be able to recover pretty quickly once the challenge was over.

My guess is you don't eat at McDonalds very often.

Exactly. Obviously, if I had to choose between starving and eating McDonald's, I'd go for McD's without a second thought. But to choose between healthy, nutritious food and highly processed crap is not such an easy decision, even when there is a financial incentive. How much is your health worth?

                    LoL.

I lost about 40lbs in college by hitting a MCD daily(mostly due to stuffing myself with MCD at 2pm and not eat dinner).

I love fast food and I would gladly eat MCD daily without pay. Their food is actually not extremely high in caloric count. A big mac roughly has the same amount of calories as a large bowl of cereal with milk. Yeah I bet people don't realize just how bad cereal is until you notice that that 160 calorie number is for 2/3 cup serving size..and you just dumped 3 cups worth in your bowl. Sad thing is, you'll be hungry in 2 hrs after having cereal too..or a large bowl of fruit with yogurt and granola which also has like a stupid amount of calories in it.

No thanks. The food is disgusting.

You could maybe sway me (I'd have to look more carefully at the menu). But it would have to be for more money. The thing about Supersize Me was he had to supersize his meal every time they asked and probably drank lots of soda, etc. You can certainly eat at McDs in a way that is't so harmful to your health. I'd personally eat smaller portions and just drink water. For me, it's just that it's gross.

I hate McD's and only eat there if we are on the road and we are starving. I order a cheeseburger kid's meal and that is plenty for me. I can't understand how people can eat the supersized meals in one sitting, even if you are 300 lbs. I also hate the taste of salt, and everything they serve tastes like salt. I even tasted salt in the milkshake. I don't think I could physically or mentally handle eating there for 60 days, even if I needed the money.

I think there is something in my family's DNA that prevents us from digesting Big Macs. Several people got sick every time they ate one. My face actually turns a slight shade of green and it feels like my stomach is being ripped out of my body piece by piece. My uncle wound up in the hospital because he thought he was having a heart attack. So no Big Macs for us.

The supersized burger meals aren't the only options.
You could choose from McMuffin (including the egg white only option), fruit & maple oatmeal (skip the brown sugar), fruit & yogurt parfait, grilled chicken sandwiches, fish sandwich (skip the tartar sauce), salads, apple slices, milk, coffee drink w/ skim milk & no sweetener, OJ, apple juice. Is it health food? Of course not. But there are definitely options that don't involve ground beef, french fries, or soda.

Absolutely. He really went to the extreme for that documentary. And they have increased their less-awful options since then.

There are things on the menu that aren't so bad for you, though eating them for 60 days would get pretty monotonous if nothing else. I agree with MonkeyMama that 10K isn't really a big enough payoff for 60 days of that.

Last night my son helped me with groceries and as he had helped someone in the afternoon move, we didn't get going until dark. As we were finishing up at WM I realized that not only I was tired, but hungry, so son and I discussed our best options for that time of night ~ 10PM. I hate Wendy's and he loves it (even owns some of their stock), I like Arby's but if they still make the meat like they did when I worked there 40 years ago, I didn't want meat that was kept warm since 9-10 in the AM, Burger King was out, etc. so we settled on McD. As usual lately I couldn't finish my food. I get tired of chewing. It literally wears me out. So, I'm not sure I could do it for the money. As I wouldn't be able to eat enough to keep me from being hungry.

Yeah I bet people don't realize just how bad cereal is until you notice that that 160 calorie number is for 2/3 cup serving size..and you just dumped 3 cups worth in your bowl.
I wish I could get hubby to understand that when he goes on a cereal binge. When he has used up the large soup bowls, he will next use the small serving bowl like you would use for vegetables at Thanksgiving, then if that one is still dirty the next time he has cereal he will use my biggest serving bowl that I have literally used as the mashed potatoes dish when having Thanksgiving dinner with 10-12 people! For some reason if you talk with him, it is like he just can't understand how much he is eating at one crack, but if you ask him he will say he hasn't had anything to eat, or only a few bites. Weird. One reason why I keep buying Corelle cereal bowls when I find them at the thrift store for 25 cents, so we don't run out in between getting dishes done.
