Yahoo is so lame. I've been trying to close my email account with them for 6 months now. I get the confirmation page saying my account will close but it doesn't close. I'd be pissed if some how someone steals my financial information which was linked to my Yahoo email account.

Anyone affected by the Yahoo hack attack?

I received the email that I was affected, they claim no financial information was stolen. I'm supposed to change my password and security questions. I'd like to switch to gmail but I have used this address for everything for years (except friends and family who use my good email address), it would be super inconvenient to change.

If I were you I would get a gmail address and slowly switch everything over. I have no clue why anyone would still use Yahoo.

I'm still using it, but have not been notified that I was hacked. I think it's probably time to switch companies for email. My other blog is Your Organized Friend.

My internet provider is Yahoo, but it's bundled with my phone, so I pay AT&T. I'm not sure how much information Yahoo would actually have.
They didn't seem to directly notify people--but when you go to log in there's a box on the bottom that you can click on to see the hack notice. But they only make you re-log in every so many weeks so I doubt people would notice it.
I still use my Yahoo email. My address is from the original company--Prodigy--and is tied to many many genealogy forums and message boards dating back to the 90s. I still will get emails from someone who saw a message about a family I'm working on so I hesitate to change it. And many of the boards are now archived so I can't update it.
The notice for the "current" hack is to tell people that they just found out they were hacked in 2013. Not really sure the point to tell anyone now.

Today I cancelled again and this is the screen I get. So I go back 90 days later and the account is still active. I would approx. that I've done this 4 times over the past 1 year. Good thing SV suggested deleting individual emails because in 90 days when I go back it'll probably still be open.
