    I think you're doing very well. I'm pretty sure even 1k/month is well above the norm (sad to say). I think the key is to simply maintain the same level of living, even as your income increases, so there's no changes to your standard of living, but your savings rate keeps increasing.

    The last raise I took earlier this year was ~10k. I pretty much live life the same as before, so all it did was boost the savings rate. lol

      Before I got sick, I saved 18% in my 403B, dumped extra cash into a Roth and maintained a small EF. Now that my income is so low, I am still trying to save half of it for the EF because my healthcare costs are going to skyrocket when COBRA ends Jan 1. Even if it means not pulling my full wt around here with groceries, I feel like I have to save half my income to get through this time of my life. Especially if this turns out to be permanent.
