  • Any free accounting software for a Massage Therapist?

Im a 24 year old Massage Therapist in Tampa FL. I worked for a man two years ago, there were three of us that worked for him and he used QuickBooks for his accounting/book keeping. Last year I opened up my own place, I rent a small space inside an office and I am hoping to find software similar to QuickBooks but a free version as my budget is very tight. I did everything by paper last year and that didnt work.
What I need/want is software that can track money coming in and money going out and hopefully break that down monthly. I work alone so I don't need payroll. Occasionally I need to send a client a bill for a couple sessions so generating a bill is nice. If possible id like to track how many new clients I get in a month/year and how many clients I work on in a week/month/year. If possible it would be nice to track what type of seevice I provide for each of them.

I hope someone here can help me. I have more budgeting questions on a personal note but this is my main concern.

I haven't personally used it but I believe Microsoft Office Accounting Express is now available as freeware if you have Windows. It was supposed to be for businesses of up to 25 employees so hopefully it is a good fit for you.

I'm also on a tight budget, but I use FreshBooks.

        It costs $19.95/month though.

However, depending on how you collect payments - it could pay for itself. (For example, I use PayPal a lot, and with FreshBooks I can bypass the fees and only pay $0.50 per transaction. If you do credit cards or something, you could compare their rates vs. whatever you're currently using.)

It does an amazing job of showing you what you're bringing in vs. what's going out in easy-to-digest visuals. It also makes it easy to save your expense receipts for when tax time rolls around.

At the very least, they have a free two-week trial, so you can give it a try to see if it's worth it for you

Since you have a hand on experience on QuickBooks, I think you should go for this. However, you can also use Xero or Kashoo accounting tool as well.
