I just noticed ebay changed their logo. I wonder why. I think it was simple and well-recognized before. The new one is even more plain than the old one. I can't help but wonder how much time and money they wasted making the change.

My wife happened to be looking for something online and I saw the current Sears logo. It looks to be a very similar font as the new ebay logo, except with normal spacing instead of the letters all touchin, and not bolded. Also interesting that they went all lower case, getting away from the fact that Sears was actually the name of one of the founders (Richard Sears and Alvah Roebuck). They ditched Roebuck's name years ago.
It looks like barebones logos are the current fad.Steve

In September 2012, eBay introduced a new logo set in Universe. The logo was introduced to the main website on October 10, 2012.
