  • Maintaining A Food Budget

For a family of two, and sometimes I cook for more, I aim to stay at $60 a week. Most would find that difficult but I find it easy to maintain when I use coupons and find deals on what I need. For example, I shop at Kroger or Little Ginat early in the morning. That is when I find the best meat prices. I typically go for the reduced price cuts that I can freeze after purchase. This morning I picked up a ten-pack of fresh burgers for $4, a two-pack of thick-cut chops for $3, and Ground Beef for under $4 as well. I routinely find roasts, steaks, and other high-end cuts on sale during that time. For side items, I go for Publix BOGO items or fresh veggies.

How do you guys maintain your budgets?

I notice this was started in 2023...I wonder how things are going as far as maintaining your grocery budget in 2025? Are you continuing with what you did or have you had to change some things.

I can tell you I've had to change a lot of things. Coupons are not as readily available except for the digital ones. My budget doesn't go as far as it did. I am super, super careful not to let stuff go to waste.
