  • Anyone taken over a company by buying its stock?

Has anyone here ever accumulated enough shares in a company to take control of said company? If so, would you be willing to share your story?

No surprise there, taking over a controlling interest in a small cap company is really advanced investing.

Most folks are interested in mutual funds. Which will get you to retirement and is less exciting.

Started out 1/4 owner of our construction company in 1984. When I retired and sold out at end of last year I held 73% of the stock due to several partners retiring and selling out ahead of me. Was a good move on my part, as I walked away with a whole lot bigger piece of the pie.
