Who doesn't love pay week...I do!!
I can't wait till pay our regular bills and add the rest to savings, hoping by end of month to have between $2000 - $2500...we currently sit at $611.56, I have a visual board that I have drawn up so I can mark off how well our savings is...so each day we walk past and it encourages us to save what we can for our house deposit.
Also made $30 from selling some stuff online this weekend, have more to put up just haven't got around to it yet...not...

My Mom had a little rummage sale at her place last weekend. Since this is an hr away from me, and I am pregnant with twins..lol...I didn't want to bring down too much stuff for the sale. I tried to grab items that haven't been moving to quickly up where I live, as well as fall/winter items that would be in demand now. I only filled up the back seat of my car and my trunk on my Malibu, so it wasn't much. The sale as a whole made $942.55, which is great for a quick pop up sale!...

Goal: $512,564 by March 2019
Current balance: $436,289 ($76,275 to go)
July 2018 balance: $431,075
Progress: $5,214
As a reminder, this is just an incremental goal along the way to 8x income by retirement. This mini-goal aims to get us to a milestone by the time I turn 45 and AS turns 40.
The milestone (which changes whenever our salaries change) is to get me to 3x my current salary, which is now $75,120, so $225,360; NT to 3x his, which is now $62,100, so $186,300;...

It's a cold and wet day here. And busy. I'm heading to Seattle to meet my BFF on Thursday and feel like I have thousands of things to do before then. In the meantime, DD and I are off to see Hank Green speak at the university tonight. Y'all might be more familiar with his brother, the YA author, John Green. DD is a huge fan and we culdn't turn down a chance to see him at the university tonight.
We're trying to eat through the freezer contents, but this may be a week for...

The cookout yesterday was great, and I was glad I went! Not only did the hostess provide a great spread, but there was a jazz band for entertainment. It was quite a production, really! So glad my friend invited me.
I learned that J emailed me in June about getting reduced tickets to see Hamilton. I never even saw the email. I get so much junk email, it's hard to see the real stuff. And I was very busy then and probably not reading my email well. I'm so disappointed I...

Our master suite addition is soooo close to being done. Our vanity mirror is at the welder getting fixed right now and once that comes back the bathroom will be pretty much complete. I have already taken a few baths which is so awesome.
Once the mirror is hung I will officially strike that goal from our 2018 list. Of course we still have a lot of little projects to do around the house like trim but that is always going to be a work in progress. Our bedroom and bathroom will...

GROCERY – $43.07 – it could have been less but we bought some snacks to have for the football grand final game, our team was in the grand final but unfortunately we lost (maybe next year). But we had fun eating chips, dips and cheese and drinking beer while watching it.
GARDENING/LANDSCAPING – Spent $109.21 on stuff for the garden, it is best time to start working in the garden again. I also bought some more seedlings and seeds.
FABRIC – Also got some fabric to...

My husband's niece had a baby girl yesterday, though I doubt we'll ever see her. MIL sent a picture, though and left a gift with MIL to give her. It'll probably come back to us, but we made the effort. We asked if she wanted us to come up to the hospital or not, but got no response.
This is from the violent side of the family that we broke ties with on Thanksgiving when they physically threatened us. This is the second niece on that side to get pregnant very young and out...

DH and I hit thrift shops each week. We have 4 favorites, but there are some others we try to go to once a week. And we are fortunate that most of our thrift shops are really nice and reasonably priced on most items. This last week we only purchased a couple of items for a friend and she paid us for them. We didn't find anything for ourselves, but it was fun looking.
I have a friend who sort of turned her nose up buying stuff at thrift stores which I thought was weird since...

I like to have a no-spend day early in the pay cycle. Often I feel the urge to stock up on something every day when I have the money, and then I run out of money too fast. A no-spend day slows me down.
Today I am headed to a cookout, and the weather is still too cool for my taste, though it is starting out warmer than yesterday. I checked with my friend J to make sure I wasn't expected to bring something, and she said, no, don't bring anything. So I won't!
I guess I will...

No this isn't about winning a free vacation (I wish), nor a relative taking us there, and it *is* about saving money, so bear with me for a bit...
Since the beginning of the decade me and the SG-GF have been taking vacations to Florida in November due to using my mother's time share (near Disney). She has a set week to use at that time, and at first I paid for the use, and now it is free as a payment for my re-roofing her house. Our trips to FL had, for a time alternated between...

Lately I've noticed that so many don't seem to understand that being a friend often means putting a little effort into it.
I'm almost to the point where I am staying off Facebook because of the rabid political posts on both sides. I still email and I do Messenger. And I'm one of those old fashioned folks who writes letters and cards.
However, I've noticed that other than two people who are honest to goodness friends, I'm the one who does the reaching out. And to be honest,...

We went on to Target today - dangerous place because of possible impulse purchases.
On the list:
- Birthday present for F's friend K
- 2 pairs black leggings (on sale $4 each!) for F
- watch for F to replace hers that broke (they didn't have what she wanted; I just ordered it online)
- ziplocs
- eye stuff for dry eyes (I couldn't figure out what to get, so I didn't get anything, then I called my brother and he said "just saline solution" so I'll have to pick that up later)

It was so cold yesterday. And it's still cold! The boiler doesn't get turned on till mid-October, so I hope we have a warmup.
Last night I went to GS1's football game. It didn't start till 9! Thank goodness it didn't last too long. I was freezing, even though I was wearing three layers and I was wrapped in a blanket.
Today I'm going to GS2's birthday party. This is his party with his friends, which is being held in a game room at the university. I won't be doing much...
