Soooo Sloooowwwwww

March 19th, 2019 at 02:33 PM by CB in the City

Lordy, the site is slow today!

After getting my documents signed and witnessed yesterday, I went to the library and got more books.
Other than that, I didn't get a whole lot done. I was very tired from my sleepless night. I did make the mac & cheese. Today I'm going to start work on spaghetti sauce with some tomatoes I took out of the freezer.

I'm doing laundry, and I need to get to Aldi later. I'm also on tap to pick up the boys from school.

I just watched a clip...

Updates

March 19th, 2019 at 07:56 AM by Amber

Checked out my habit tracker and I have 12 days so far of no spending. The cool thing is I should meet and surpass my goal of 15 days.

This week is pay day, I should be sending off the April mortgage, and May HOA. We got the new electric bill and it went up. Not sure how or why but I need to figure out how to decrease this baby. I signed up for auto pay for the water, this drives me nuts because I never get the bill until after the fact. I’ll be canceling this.

If things...

First, I want to thank everyone who responded about my last entry. I appreciate the support. I guess I'm sensitive, but it really bothers me when someone posts hurtful comments. One thing I wonder is, does this person or persons realize that those of us who wrote the blog can see their email? And if so, do they know you can research who they are by the email? Anyway, I appreciate the support of those of you who kindly responded.

It was an expensive week last week. My headlight...

Monday Doings

March 18th, 2019 at 01:31 PM by CB in the City

I just got back from the gym. It was really hard waking up at 6 this morning, but I know they mean business around here when they tell you to move your car. And I thought I might as well get the gym visit out of the way since I had to get up anyway.

I found a legal place to park just around the corner. The tree-trimmers are not here yet, but my street is blocked for the whole day. Hoping it will just be the one day.

After I shower and dress, I'll head to DIL's work to...

Podcast

March 18th, 2019 at 01:35 AM by Amber

Found a great podcast, NPR LIFE Kits. Here the host talks about getting out of debt, goals and life. I absolutely love it, the only problem is, there’s four episodes.

One thing that was mentioned, is to celebrate when you achieve little goals to reward your self. I thought yay! Once I pay off CC9 💳 I’m going to do something, I don’t know what but something. I’ve been saving for this day, because I know CC10 💳 won’t be paid off until the end of of year.

I’m...

This & That

March 17th, 2019 at 02:27 PM by Monkey Mama

I had a post mostly typed up, but it disappeared. *sigh*

I don't even remember what the heck I had written about.

What I do remember:

I got the *all clear* on two different medical fronts last week. Woohoo! Even better, I got to enjoy this good news for more than like an hour or a day (before the next disaster).

I'd say that things have significantly settled down in the past couple of weeks. On the medical front, I have been monitored for two different issues...

Another Day

March 17th, 2019 at 02:21 PM by CB in the City

I had a terrible dream last night in which I lost my laptop, with all its information -- it was stolen right out from under me, and I couldn't get anyone to listen to me about what happened. It was such a relief to wake up and realize that everything was safe.

Aside from the cooking I had a leisurely day yesterday, with no spending. Today I'm going to do some laundry and some cleaning. I'm going to finish a book today, so I may go to the library and stock up, even though...

Cash In, Cash Out

March 17th, 2019 at 01:36 PM by Creditcardfree

The tax refund did arrive as expected. It is currently in our savings account marked as Big Goal money!! I decided to act like it didn't exist in some ways. We were never expecting a refund, so spending it didn't exactly seem right. If we need an additional $1900 we can take it from our other savings or cash flow it.

I earned enough Swagbucks to redeem for a $25 Amazon gift card. I used it to buy cabin and engine filters for our two vehicles. Those arrived yesterday.

We...

expensive week

March 17th, 2019 at 11:06 AM by mumof2

This week has been an expensive one, first we had our neuro physio appointments to pay for...then we had to get in a yard guy to do some work that we just don't have the energy for or tools (we had to trim trees etc) so $200 later our yards look great and now the new fence is up we can get back into the yards and start getting things back on track....today we had to order a mini skip to get rid of all the rubbish and old stuff that we are no longer using...we have to be wary of...

My Mother

March 17th, 2019 at 01:05 AM by Amber

My mother drives me absolutely nuts. This woman will make a great day go far left in two seconds.

She calls, doesn’t say hello, how are you, zilch. She just starts yelling in the phone. I have a headache 🤕, today we buried my dad’s girlfriend, I took a nap 💤 and I’ve been dreaming about her all day, my head is pounding. To answer the phone to screams is enough to make me want to just hang up on her. She had a document that needed to be signed, she ask me to sign,...

Baking, Cooking and Freezing

March 16th, 2019 at 05:16 PM by CB in the City

I'm just hanging around home today. I've done some cooking and baking. I made blueberry pancake batter, sausage gravy, sausage rolls and banana bread. All for the freezer. And yes, I did dare to try banana bread again after my last fiasco. DIL gave me some overripe bananas so I decided to try again using an old tried-and-true recipe. The loaves are cooling now, and they certainly look a lot better than the last batch. I'm out of walnuts, so unfortunately was not able to...

Car Repairs

March 16th, 2019 at 04:20 AM by Shiela

I wrote this two days ago but couldn't log on.

Good news, it wasn’t as bad as it sounded. They found the fault in the power steering pressure switch so they replaced with a new one. Also the intake pipe needed to be repaired and put in some oil. They also did the usual service since it would have been due next month anyway. All up it cost $382.26, overall not as bad as we expected it to be.

A Rainy Friday

March 15th, 2019 at 04:14 PM by CB in the City

I went to Sam's this morning after going to the gym. I was intending to buy only one thing, but ended up spending $62 -- $33 on groceries, $16 on household supplies, and $13 on personal care. Once I got there, I started thinking in terms of what I wanted to be sure I had on hand while recovering from surgery, and I thought I might as well do it now. That pushed my variables up to 78%! Yikes. With a week and a half to go, that's not great. But I do feel more prepared. Of...

Medical prep

March 14th, 2019 at 08:38 PM by CB in the City

Doctor visit went well yesterday. I had a bad moment when I thought I had waited too long to schedule my CT scan, meaning I would have to change the surgery date, but I got it done this morning and I'm still on schedule. I got an EKG yesterday, and blood work this morning. All this cost $5 copay and $4 for parking -- so far.

I took the boys to music lessons after school, and bought dinner for them at McDonald's for $6.

Filling the tank today cost $23.

I'm not near my...
