Week 14

April 9th, 2019 at 06:49 AM by Shiela

Groceries = $94.40 bought extra for an upcoming camping trip.
Other than grocery shopping we didn’t spend on anything else all weekend. We spend the weekend getting our camper trailer ready and clean out the garage a bit. I also did some tidying up in the garden and cleaning the car interior.

Finding a new normal

April 8th, 2019 at 11:08 PM by Jazzy

Baby boy D arrived 3 weeks early on March 26. It's been a process to adjust, but we're so happy that he's with us. Everything went about as smoothly as it could. Due to potential complications, my husband was brought home, and I was induced. 7.5 hours later, our son was here. I'm recovering well, the baby's healthy, and my husband got to spend some time with his son.

I'll hopefully get back to the financial side of things in the coming weeks as things normalize.

FB Sales Week of 3/31/19

April 8th, 2019 at 03:12 PM by Banker Gurl

It was a great week for sales, but a hard week as well. We sold the twins stroller. I was lucky to get back what we spent on it since it was a used stroller. It was taking up a lot of room in the garage and was painful to see it there. We still have so much other baby toys, clothes and furniture to deal with too. For now most of it is crammed in a closet, but it won't all fit so some is taking up space in one of the extra bedrooms.

Well anyways.....sales total for the week...

Progress Report

April 8th, 2019 at 12:32 PM by CB in the City

This was my first morning without BFF to help me with the compression socks. DS stopped by on his way to work and got the deed done. He also brought a load of clean and folded laundry. Yesterday he and I and GS2 played a game of Life. GS2 changed the kitty litter and topped off the cat food.

I will get a visit from the nurse today, and I believe my dressing will be changed. Before she comes I will sponge bathe and wash my hair.

I had a good night's sleep -- only woke...

Sunday

April 7th, 2019 at 03:32 PM by CB in the City

BFF left today. She was needed at home, and I am doing so well it seemed it was better to let her go.

Progress is very visible every day. Today I feel like I could just do away with the walker, but of course I won't.

I took a sponge bath and put on fresh clothes, made my own breakfast, made my bed. I took all the morning meds and now I'm ready to settle down and watch a show on Netflix. Already I can't remember the title, but it's something about a family moving to the...

Meal Planning for the Week

April 7th, 2019 at 09:11 AM by Lucky Robin

So I've been asked a couple times now, what I eat for breakfast and lunch, since I usually only post my dinner meal plans. Just this once I will post my other meals, too, but it does get kind of repetitive. Lately I've been making up a batch chorizo sausage and then I use about a 1/2 cup at a time until it is gone. I just warm it up in the skillet and then scramble a couple eggs into it. DS has some sometimes, too.

I also eat a lot of chef salads for lunches. Everyone sort...

March Madness

April 7th, 2019 at 04:39 AM by Amber

Finally back on track. I took a week’s hiatus, things were super busy at work and this last week has been crazy.

First, the SO cousin’s wedding was beautiful, but his mom act a plum fool because she was sitting at the wrong table and had to move 🤦🏽‍♀️🙄

The next day at 6 am we took my mom to the hospital 🏥 she had an allergic reaction to something. Then at 11 am we took the SO grandson to the hospital for a possible seizure, all in one day.
Mid week...

I Found It and Paid Cash for It

April 7th, 2019 at 01:38 AM by Lucky Robin

I have been searching for five years for a new comforter in the teal to turquoise range and today I finally found it. It's teal and a Queen, not a King, but that's okay. I put it sideways on the bed anyhow and I don't tuck it because of the bed rails. I have never, not once, found a comforter for a King bed that I have liked, but I have found queen ones, so I'm used to that. They simply didn't come in the larger size. I used my allowance money as I have barely touched it for...

Expensive home improvement projects

April 7th, 2019 at 12:47 AM by PatientSaver

Did some raking today, which made me feel so out of shape. Now I'm enjoying a toasty 75 degrees inside because I've turned the heat off and am running my kerosene heater. We may not have too many cold nights left, so I'm trying to use up my emergency power outage kerosene stockpile.

I'm still very busy getting quotes from contractors for various projects. Attic insulation is #1 on my list. The 1st guy wanted to do the spray foam for $3900. The more I read about it, the more...

Trudging On

April 6th, 2019 at 12:54 PM by CB in the City

I can tell that these days are going to run all together. Yesterday was uneventful -- no visits from medical personnel. We watched more Game of Thrones and Elizabeth and Robin (?) on HBO Go, which my son installed for me when I came home.

It looks like the biggest challenge of this whole thing will be getting the compression stockings off and on. After BFF leaves, my kids will have to help me.

Nothing new on the financial front.

Today a physical therapist is coming;...

Frugal Friday

April 6th, 2019 at 01:14 AM by Creditcardfree

It's been a very frugal week!

I ate out of the fridge, freezer and pantry through lunch today and could have eaten another meal without buying more food, but my husband is on his way home and will want dinner. There was nothing left he would eat...not a fan of veggie burgers! So I went to the store and picked up groceries for the weekend primarily. Some items will carry over into next week.

I spent $40.65 out of pocket for some of our staples, including organic eggs, meat...

Note to self for net worth update

April 5th, 2019 at 10:45 PM by ceejay74

I got NT's annual notice on one of his pensions. (I must have missed at least one previous one, because even last year's value is more than what I have listed!)

So for our net worth update at the end of the month, I'll change this pension:
AV: 17,967 pounds ($22,459)

to
22,397 pounds ($27,996)

That'll be a nice boost for our retirement goal!

Quiet Day

April 5th, 2019 at 09:37 PM by CB in the City

It's been a quiet day at home. I find I can't concentrate on reading, so BFF and I are watching shows on Amazon Prime and HBO Go. She has pushed me to watch Game of Thrones, and I pushed her onto Forever. We watched the first episode of A Very English Scandal, too.

I've had one nurse visit and one PT visit, and PT will visit again tomorrow.

My reacher arrived today -- also a staple remover that was ordered by my nurse.

I am feeling mostly good. I do have times when...

Payday Report for 4/5/19

April 5th, 2019 at 08:20 PM by Lucky Robin

I raised the grocery budget this week just because we are going down to the farm on Saturday and I will be buying ground beef and bacon. I may not have actually needed to do that as I won't be buying much meat this week otherwise, but if I don't spend it I will put it back in the checking account.

I also bumped the medical fund up to $500 as we had a bill come in that we were starting to think would never arrive. It was from October. I don't think I will need to repeat that...

Bonus, Insurance, Mortgage & Decor

April 5th, 2019 at 01:58 PM by klarose

Well both the bonus and the health insurance came through. We decided to put back the $500 bonus for our vacation. Since it's already past time to buy plane tickets and such. The dirt pile can wait.

We have already deposited $60 into the HSA, but I have no idea where it is, or how to access it. So we will have to find that information out.

Paid my mortgage today, new balance is $114,114.20.

Had to buy more hay and pay for a vet bill so my animal fund is dwindling again....
