Yesterday I went to another evening baseball game, in which GS1 performed well, but the team performed fabulously!  It was a rout!  I bought myself dinner on the way home - $9.  There is another game tonight.
Tomorrow I am heading down to BFF's house for our first weekend visit since the pandemic.  We have been meeting in the middle for lunch every other month or so, but this is the first time we are getting back to pre-pandemic visiting.  I'm excited!

I have to say I have needed some good news with one thing after another for the last two years.  DH's work is giving a 2% raise across the board.  It goes into effect starting next week, so it won't be on the next paycheck, but the one after that.  And they are starting reviews for merit raises on top of that in July.  DH's isn't scheduled for his until the end of July, but it means there is a chance of an additional raise, too.  Since he never got one...

It's been a few weeks since my last post - since then, not much to report. 
School is going well, and I have adapted to the workload.  I'm happy to say that it feels much more doable, I was just overly excited and doing a lot at once lol.  I've fallen into a good groove, and can't believe that the end of next week marks halfway through the session.  
Work is still nuts, and I haven't heard about the promotion yet.  It would be in effect for July...

So we were doing great with our savings but then we had to buy a bed that cost over $3000 plus bedding (so almost $4000)  and we had to use the CC...I was going to keep saving and just pay off the CC but I hate having debt so used our savings to pay it off and now only have $700 in savings...was hard but knowing we are debt free again fills me with peace of mind more...so we are debt free again.

On the 12th we passed our one year debt free mark.  It has been an interesting year.  The freedom that comes with not having the oppression that debt provides is remarkable.  While not much else has changed here, attitudes have.  Tension levels have.  Loosening the reins is something allowable.
Are we as far ahead as I had hoped we would be?  No.  And Yes.  Medical bills continue to be a thing we have to plan for.  The unexpected always...

Our retirement accounts now total $56,864.42, a difference in total of $2,689.12 in the last 17 days.  Most of that is from contributions from us and work, but about $400 was profit.  DH worked a lot of overtime on the last two paychecks so close to $1940 was what we contributed.  I hope one day work will go back to contributing 5% instead of 2.5%.
As for the Hog Fund, after I met my goal with the Beef Fund I had $29, so I transferred that to a new envelope and...

I had a few more gifts to buy -- two family birthdays this month.  I had some cashback rewards on my Discover card, so my out-of-pocket spending was only $25.  Variables are at 77%, and it's only halfway through the month.  Hope I can stay under this month.  The computer problems messed with my budget!  But the good news on that -- all my accounts are now linked to the new bank account and I'm only waiting to make sure all the automatic payments/deposits...

Where should I start?  Guess with the most interesting.  DH's company turned down the buyout.  They didn't want to go back and work for a Megacorp.  I was surprised but at the same time someone pointed out they left their soul-sucking jobs to do something they believe in. They made enough money already that making more money didn't seem the point.  I can't believe it.  I'm glad because my DH is happy and still moving forward.

I paid off my student loan! I should receive an official letter within 20 days, but the payment has already been deducted from my account and the balance on the web portal is listed as zero. Somebody posted asking how I paid this off, so some reflections on the process:

Well some good news today..first my friend in the US who had surgery a month ago is finally stable enough to go back to her rehab hospital...she had lots of complications but is doing much better today...so glad was able to speak with her.
Then got a call from my mom our family friend that they thought had a stroke he didn't it was his heart they put in a pacemaker and he is being discharged today...he will be staying with my mom as his kids won't stay with him and he needs someone...

Not that this was unexpected but as of close of business today, my late cousin's main IRA has been transferred into my account: $433,656.00. The money was already effectively mine but actually having it in my name is one more step in the process.
His Roth hasn't transferred yet. I'm guessing that will happen tomorrow as it's with the same firm (Wells Fargo). He also had much smaller traditional and Roth IRAs with Vanguard which should be in the process of transferring as I spoke...

Well I decided to leave my toxic job. I’ve never done anything like this but my peace, and health was more important. 
 
I witnessed a ton of abuse, as well as illegal activities, my blood pressure skyrocketed and I had anxiety as well as insomnia. I really want to report them but but doing so will blackball me.

I just reread my post from last week saying I was pretty much done with the "debulking" of stuff. Boy was I wrong. A week later and I've put out 3 more bins of paper for recyling and taken 2 carloads of stuff to the thrift shop. I've sold multiple items on Marketplace and have a couple listed on ebay. I have several more that I'll probably list tomorrow. I keep unearthing more stuff. It seems to go in layers - get one layer cleared and discover there's another layer behind it....

Yesterday I took my grandson to dinner.  We both got appetizers and the total was $25.  I also picked up $25 worth of groceries at Aldi.
This morning I ordered a birthday gift for my Oregon DIL.  Using $23 worth of credits, I only paid $20 out of pocket.
I transferred my funds to the new bank account yesterday.  They advised that I wait until I see that my automatic payments/deposits are working before I close the old account.  It will be a month before...

I'm still cleaning up after getting scammed.  Yesterday I froze my credit reports and mailed in a request for copies of each one.  I would have requested them online, but it was too convoluted a process.  I'm hoping I froze them in timel.  It's hard to remember everything I have to do.  But I think I'm ready now to transfer my money from the old bank account to the new one; I have updated all my automatic payments/deposits.  When that's done I can...

First off some good news..I finally got my bed yesterday so it was nice to finally be able to sleep in a bed again..all new bedding...the dog wasn't so sure LOL.
Went over today to put our dishwasher at moms house and of course I went down hill when we went to the store...really wish they would find a cause for it...so hubby took me back to her place so she could babysit me and hubby could get back to get what he needed to finish it up...while there we got a call a family friend...

I got the job! I actually posted that here on May 7th when they made me the tentative offer, but when I went to post it the blog disappeared. So I took that as a sign & decided to wait until I got my final offer. I got my final offer Monday & it was actually effective the day prior. I have one week remaining in my current role as lab supervisor.
A series of things has happened that has made me determined to sell my condo. I will then rent an apartment where my new position...
