With Father’s Day this Sunday, we want to take time to celebrate all the fathers and father figures in our lives and the special role they play. As we make plans, it’s easy to get caught up in the preparations as we focus on how we can show our appreciation. Sometimes, we forget about the small tasks and errands. This normally isn’t a problem, unless you have to visit a bank over the holiday weekend. If you’re wondering “Are banks open on Father’s Day 2023?” here’s everything you need to know.
What Are the Hours of Operation on Sundays?
Generally speaking, most banks operate Monday through Friday on the typical 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. schedule. However, some banks offer weekend hours, and a few even on holidays. While it may be difficult to find a bank that is open, it isn’t impossible.
Those banks that have locations inside retail stores like Walmart or Costco are more likely to offer extended hours for their busy customers. But if you need to visit your bank branch on a Sunday, they usually have limited hours from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Are Banks Open on Father’s Day 2023?
This year, Father’s Day falls on Sunday, June 18th. Although some banks like TD Bank remain open on Sundays and certain holidays, most will be closed the year. Since the following Monday is a federal holiday most banks will also close on June 19th to commemorate Juneteenth. Unfortunately, you will have to wait until Tuesday, June 20th to take care of your banking business.
However, you still have options with online banking. You will still be able to check your balances, transfer funds between accounts, make a deposit, and schedule payments on Father’s Day. And of course, you always have access to limited services through ATMs as well. Just keep in mind that even if you schedule actions, it will take longer to process transactions over a holiday weekend.
