Alex Guarnaschelli’s Net Worth

Television shows that focus on competition are some of the most popular in the United States. Shows like “Fear Factor” and “Chopped” have had millions of viewers and occasionally a huge star is born from these programs. For instance, many winners from “American Idol” have gone on to lead successful lives.

What about the chefs from your favorite cooking competition shows? Alex Guarnaschelli has been in the public eye (when it comes to her food) for years. Now she frequents “Chopped” as a judge and has even competed in “Iron Chef” herself. So, what is Alex Guarnaschelli’s net worth and how has her television career supported the building of her wealth?

About Alex Guarnaschelli

Before delving into the ins and outs of her career you should know a bit about Alex Guarnaschelli. She was born in New York City in 1972. She grew up watching her mother, Maria Guarnaschelli, create and publish cookbooks. Some of  Guarnaschelli’s first culinary moments were alongside her mother trying out new things in the kitchen.

Guarnaschelli graduated from Barnard College in 1991 and went on to cook in some of the most famous kitchens in the world.

Alex Guarnaschelli’s Career

Alex Guarnaschelli’s Net WorthGuarnaschelli worked under Larry Forgione for some time and then went on to work in numerous restaurants in France, New York and Los Angeles. According to The Food Network, she also landed a spot in Guy Savoy’s La Butte Chaillot as well as a number of other high-end restaurants before earning a spot in the kitchen of Butter (New York, New York).

Not all of Guarnaschelli’s career has been spent in the kitchen either. In fact, a good chunk of her career has been spent in front of the camera. She first appeared on “Iron Chef: America” in 2007 and, although she lost, she has returned to the show as a judge.

The lifelong chef also competed in the fourth season of “The Next Iron Chef” as well as “Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast.” Though she didn’t win either of those competitions Guarnaschelli has appeared again on each of the shows as a judge. When “The Next Iron Chef: Redemption” returned for season five Guarnaschelli competed and won.

The Food Network has been a great resource for Guarnaschelli’s career. In addition to her many appearances on the various competitions, you may have also seen her cooking show, “The Cooking Loft with Alex Guarnaschelli” or even caught her on “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.”

Alex Guarnaschelli’s Net Worth

Although her career seems fairly successful, Alex Guarnaschelli’s net worth is only estimated to be about $2 million. Guarnaschelli isn’t necessarily a household name though. Unless you’ve seen her on The Food Network or have followed her career specifically you probably don’t know much about her.

Aside from her earnings through The Food Network (appearances on competition shows, her own show, etc), Guarnaschelli is also earning cash as the executive chef at Butter, one of New York’s most popular restaurants. From the time she was a child Guarnaschelli always knew she wanted to create new and interesting food and she does just that every day, whether it be on the television or in her very own restaurant.
