Charlie Hunnam’s Career

Charles Matthew “Charlie” Hunnam was born on April 10, 1980 in Newcastle. He grew up in Newcastle with his mother and father and went on to study at Cumbria College of Art and Design. He graduated from the college with a degree in theory and history of film with a minor in performing arts (something that would take him a long way in the future).

Hunnam got his start when he was just 17 years old. A production manager from a children’s show called “Byker Grove” spotted Hunnam shopping. He was later cast in three episodes of the show. The actor landed his first major role as Nathan Maloney in “Queer as Folk” the very next year.

He went on to play minor roles in films and television shows for a few years and in 2008 he landed his big role on “Sons of Anarchy.” He played the part of Jax Teller until 2014 when the show ended. However, there are rumors of a “Sons of Anarchy” spinoff series to come.

While the majority of Hunnam’s work has been on television, the actor has been featured in a few movies as well. He has played roles in films like “Pacific Rim,” “Cold Mountain” and “Crimson Peak.” In his next big role will Hunnam will play King Arthur in “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword.”

How much money has Charlie been able to rake in with his acting career? What is Charlie Hunnam’s net worth?

Charlie Hunnam’s Net Worth

Charlie Hunnam's net worthCharlie Hunnam’s net worth sits at about $8 million. Hunnam has made the majority of his wealth from his television career, especially the role he played on “Sons of Anarchy.”

“Sons” grew popular rather quickly and gained a huge following over the six years it was on air. Hunnam consistently made more than $500,000 each year he was on the show. However, his television acting career isn’t the only thing feeding Charlie Hunnam’s net worth.

In addition to his acting career Hunnam also makes money through endorsements. Over $200,000 of his annual income stems from endorsing companies, according to Net Worth Tomb.

There are some assets that add to Charlie Hunnam’s net worth as well. Charlie and his long-term girlfriend Morgana McNelis live in a $2.7 million home in Los Angeles. Hunnam also owns a $30,000 Dodge Charger.

Hunnam’s net worth would have been much higher than $8 million if he’d accepted the role of Christian Grey in the “50 Shades of Grey” film series. He doesn’t seem too hurt by not taking it though. Hunnam has plenty of income on its way this year and in the years to come. There are rumors of a “Sons of Anarchy” prequel and he’ll be starring in the “King Arthur” film to be released later this year. Be on the lookout for Hunnam’s career to continue to be successful and for his net worth to continue to climb.
