Although you may have seen Fiorina in the presidential race prior to dropping out, and you probably saw her fall off stage on Monday, you may not know as much as you think you do about the potential future Vice President of the United States. Specifically, do you know how much Carly Fiorina is worth? The answer: almost more than any other presidential candidate running in 2016.
Carly Fiorina’s net worth sits at a pretty $59 million, however, she did not reach such an impressive net worth through her career in politics.
In 1998, Carly Fiorina was named Fortune Magazine’s “Most Powerful Woman in American Business.” She is a former business executive of Hewlett-Packard, one of the largest technology companies in the world. She made an estimated $100 million working with HP until 2005 when she left the business world to pursue a career in politics. In addition to her time at HP, she was also a contributor to Fox Business Network as well as CNBC prior to running for president and, now, becoming Cruz’ running mate.
The GOP hopeful is married to Frank Fiorina. Because Carly is married, her net worth includes the assets of her husband, Frank. Frank was a long-time employee at AT&T. The couple met there while they both held executive positions. Frank retired from AT&T at age 48 so that he could travel with his wife as she began to seek a career in politics.
Among the various assets the couple owns, the Fiorinas have a $6 million home in Northern Virginia. The home sits near the Potomac River on five acres of land. However, not all of their money goes to buying extravagant homes. In fact, the Fiorinas are extremely charitable.
According to Carly, she and her husband donated 14 percent of their incomes in 2012 and 2013 to charities. She is the chair of Good360, a Virginia-based nonprofit that helps companies donate excess merchandise to charities. Fiorina has also worked with The One Woman Initiative, Opportunity International and is currently the CEO and chairwoman of the Fiorina Foundation.
Now, she and her husband Frank have a net worth of $59 million, according to Heavy. Her net worth only came in second to Donald Trump during this year’s presidential race. Trump disclosed a net worth of approximately $8.7 billion while Hilary Clinton sits at a net worth $15 million, Ted Cruz $3.5 million and Bernie Sanders $800,000.
It is also important to note that Fiorina has never held a political seat before. Though she has campaigned, she has never won a seat in a political office before. If she and Cruz make it to the White House, it will be the first political position she’s ever held (though, starting out as VP isn’t so bad).
