  • What Are you Doing To Get Free Money?

Guys - what things are you doing to get "free" money?

I've got coinbase, Webull, SoFi, and Robinhood already?

If you have any "sign up here and we both get $10", let me know and I'll do it. I like this stuff - its fun.

If Citizen's bank operates in your area you can get up to $600 for signing up for their checking and savings accounts.
You just have to make a $500 deposit within 90 days.

Many of us that never got sick or missed a paycheck recently got Covid related Stimulus checks.
If that isn't free money, I don't know what is.

Nielson rating service sent me a survey.
It had $2 cash in it, and the letter said if I fill out the survey and mail it back they'd send me $5 more.
I spent about 2 minutes filling it out and dropped it in my mailbox.
So, $7 for nearly doing nothing

I just got 1 share of free stock for signing up for Webull.
They gave me OPK which is a heathcare company trading at $3.63.
I also know nothing about this company

Looks like I made around $35K in dividends in 2021

Nothing is free, and I spent a lot of time, work, effort, energy, etc. building my portfolio over the years.

Now that things are starting to autopilot along, it's fairly passive

That's about as "free" as income can be for me.

Same here. 46K from our taxable investments. 54K from our retirement accounts. That's 100K of "free" passive income for the year.

using credit cards for rewards. I have no idea about my dividends. I don't have much I think. We are targeted to growth not dividend income producing. But using credit cards I probably get $5-6k yea income tax free

I don't know where you have your investments, but if they have a web interface similar to my brokerage account, then I can do a simple search and filter by date range and by transaction type.
Filtering a date range of all of 2021 and a transaction type of dividends gave me the $35K figure

I was surprised that mine was so high, as I am more going after growth

Check and see if you can do a search
                    You might be surprised

It will also be on your 1099 if we’re talking about taxable accounts.

There are some great "discount" apps and browser extensions you can use to earn gift cards and cashback on purchases from thousands of retailers. Additionally, if you do need to open a new bank account or credit card, seek out the ones with bonus offers. Many banks will give hundreds to those who open a new account.

The 'free money' .. from what I've seen, often isn't worth the time for what you might get but I'd love to know that others are doing. Maybe I haven't found the right ones.

Its a lot of record keeping also...but on the other hand, the dividends from the free stock keep flowing.
