  • Meal planning + grocery shopping

I've mentioned on this forum before how much I LOVE my meal planning service. The recipes are unique and delicious and can usually be made in around 30 minutes. If you're into weekend meal prep, they include instructions for prepping ahead of time to make your time spent cooking during the week even more efficient. It's so simple to use and even builds a grocery list for you where you can check off what you already have and get a quick and easy consolidated shopping list. Recently they added an integration with Instacart where you can now just click a button to go to your Instacart and it adds all the items on your list to your cart from your preferred grocery store! I logged on this morning, built my weekly meal plan, sorted my grocery list and added to my Instacart for delivery all in under 30 minutes and my groceries will be delivered by noon. Popped up with a referral code and I figured I'd share them here!

My sanity-saving meal planning service - CookSmarts - is offering 40% off this Thanksgiving using the code THANKFUL22 at checkout. I've raved about this amazing meal planning service here before - if you haven't signed up, you're missing out. For less than $10 a month, you get a custom meal plan, auto-generated grocery list (that syncs with Instacart if you don't want to do your own shopping) and a weeks work of quick, easy, delicious meals. Below is my referral link where you can get a glimpse of some of our favorites and how diverse these menus are. If you've been wanting to get more organized with your cooking and grocery shopping, give it a try!

My referral link (don't forget to use the code for additional savings!): https://mealplans.cooksmarts.com/mad..._code=CSBKJU0N

We used Cook Smarts for about a year, and it really was awesome. As the primary cook in the family, the new ideas for recipes was incredibly helpful. Great diversity of options, and very few recipes that flopped. In fact one became an instant family favorite (curried chicken burgers -- incredible).

We stopped the service when I deployed, because my wife didn't want to try experimenting with new recipes that frequently on her own. I do 97% of the cooking for our family, and DW, though capable, mostly dislikes cooking. We have, however, gifted 1yr subscriptions to the service a couple times to our siblings, and they all had the same rave reviews.

It's just the best. The very first recipe we ever tried was their maple dijon crusted salmon and its been a staple in our house for 5 years - its my go to when we have company and something I always have ingredients on hand for when we need something quick. A couple weeks ago DD asked if we could make chicken pot pie. I cringed a little thinking it sounded like a lot of work, but hopped on CS to see if they had a recipe for it. Came across chicken pot pie SOUP... oh my it hit the spot right down to the pie crust crumble topping/dipping strips.

No, I do not use meal planning services. I do meal planning on my own based on ingredients I have on hand. I cook a lot of stuff ahead of time so that I only need to warm them up later.
