  • Selling men's clothes...

Does anyone have tips for selling men's clothes?

My wife seems to easily sell her old clothes. None of them are especially fancy brands. But She pops them on Facebook or Vinted and they are gone quickly.

On the other hand I try and do the same with brand which are actually better known and have no luck.

Do men just not buy second hand clothes?

I'd love to find a way to do it, both from an environment and economic point of view. I'm not fussed about making huge money, but if I can turn clothes I don't wear any more into cash that I can spend on new stuff that would be awesome.

    Any advice very welcome.

I think generally speaking, women shop more for clothing than men, but men still buy clothing both new and used. I've bought plenty of clothing items at thrift shops myself.

I'd say the best place to sell is ebay. Make sure you have clear photos and good measurements (don't just list the size) and describe the items in detail noting any flaws. Have a good return policy because there's no possible way to know if something will fit well, look good, and feel good without trying it on.

There are plenty of people in my reselling groups who do well with men's clothing.

    * Despite the high cost of living, it remains very popular.
    * Why should I pay for my daughter's education when she already knows everything?
    * There are no shortcuts to anywhere worth going.

      Interesting points - thank you.

I personally buy plenty of clothes second hand. I think maybe the types of clothes I am selling just aren't all that 'searchable' with their brand names etc.

Ebay is a good shout. I will try there next.

      Thanks.

You can search sold listings on ebay going back 2 years using their Terapeak function. That can give you a good idea of how desirable the brands are. If the brands aren't big sellers, you may do better putting like items in lots. Like if you have 6 pairs of 34x32 dress slacks that you can sell together, you may have more luck than trying to sell them individually. Make sure your titles have plenty of keywords like size, garment type, material, color, etc.

Brilliant advice - thanks so much.

I don't really have enough for lots. They are just clothes that sit in my cupboard, not doing anything or going anywhere.

I have found that younger men seem to buy used clothes more often.
