All,
As you probably know, I've been on a bit of a kick to find passive income streams that don't require a lot of up front time or capital. I've had mixed success with this.
One application that I think you should definitely NOT spend your time on is Traffmonetizer. This is a "download this app, and get paid for selling your spare internet bandwidth" type of business model. There are a couple of reasons why it doesn't make sense to mess around with.
1. It has am extremely low payout. Generally speaking, selling spare bandwidth is done on a per gigabyte basis. Traffmonetizer pays something like 6 cents a gigabyte, which is significantly less than EarnApp, the leader in this sector.
2. Traffmonetizer is a non-US company. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, the company is based in Estonia, so its unclear what legal or regulatory framework they operate under.
3. Most of the mentions on the internet seem to be mostly concerned with people promoting their affiliate program - you get $5 if you get others to sign up. Not so much large payments from the company or other signs of healthy user adoption. Its mostly just people hustling referral bucks.
4. Base on my initial read - there just isn't a lot of transparency about the company. In fact, when I checked there is only one staff person listed on LinkedIn - in a junior role. So, its not clear who their leadership is, or who their customers are. In other words, the company lacks transparency. This wouldn't be so bad if the company was a brick and mortar location selling asphalt or peanuts. But its not - its a tech company, you have their 3rd party software installed in your computer and you don't really know what they're doing with it.
Here is what the interface looks like:

So for me, this traffmonetizer review is thumbs down. I'll probably remove it from my machine pretty soon.
