    Thanks everyone. My decision is to stick with cash payments only for now. Nothing that I'll be selling is going to be super expensive (like ccf probably not over $250 or maybe $300), and there are oodles of banks and ATMs in our area where people can go to withdraw cash if they don't have enough on hand, and I'll give them time to do that. If someone I know (as opposed to just a random stranger who belongs to the same FB garage sale group) wants to buy something from me and wants to use Venmo, I'll consider it.

      tell them venmo cash payment only, and have them show you their app when they make the transfer. But yeah, cash is king when it comes to any sort of transaction. I sell on CL time to time, and generally only take cash. for repeat transactions where i trust the buyer I'll accept other forms of payment. I sold $1800 in whiskey early this week and took cashier check.
