  • How many streams of income do you have?

    I'm really curious how I'm doing compared with others. I feel like the more streams I have, the more secure I am. Thus, I don't need a massive emergency fund since the chances of all my streams drying up at once are pretty small.

    Here's what I have:

    savings/checking interest (lol leave no man behind)
    Roth IRA gains and dividends
    Roth 401(K) gains and dividends
    taxable investment account gains and dividends
    Salary income
    3 online side hustle incomes (web design)
    income from helping on my uncle's farm (maybe 3k/year)

    What about you? How many until you feel comfortable?

    Present:
    * Wages from full time job
    * Bonuses from full time job
    * Wife's wages from part time job
    * Farm ground income
    * Director fees income from a board I sit on
    * Stock dividends
    * Rental income from commercial investment real estate
    * Income from money loaned to finance a business venture
    Don't feel like I can really count gains in the value of 401K plans, stock growth or incidental income from cash sitting in savings accounts, as it's not really income until you start taking it.

    In retirement, expect to have:
    * Incidental wages and insurance coverage from part time job for several years
    * Farm ground income
    * Director fees income from a board I sit on
    * Stock dividends
    * Rental income from commercial investment real estate
    * 401K income when tapped
    * Income from sale of my main business for at least 5 years
    * Likely to acquire more investment real estate and dividend generating safe stock for consistent income

      Holy heck, you are killing it! How old are you? How do I get to sit on a board?? Not saying it's easy - just seems interesting.

        income

        At the moment we I have one major source of income that is I'm the director of a company my wife and I own.

        We are on track this September to finish 12 months in business with $550k invoiced.

        We get a little interest from the bank but its less than $1500.00 a year.

        I flip guns from time to time for a profit and My hobby of hunting keep the freezers filled with meat which saves money. Nothing substantial though.

          I am currently trying to grow the amount of income sources I have. As of the moment, I have two. One from my 9-5 and the other from my online marketing that I do when I get home.
