I say go for it. But the trick will be to make videos on something you are very knowledgeable or passionate. You will have to supply your channel with regular updates of fresh material. If it is something you are ho-hum about, you may lose interest. Remember, you have to give people a reason to come back to you, whether it is entertainment, information or opinion. Just lay out a game plan and stick with it.

And others are right, there are many people out there who makes over a million a year via youtube. Others make a handsome and comfortable living. Most, however, get paid little, if anything, for their videos.

Making money on YouTube is all about views. You have to come up with something that appeals to enough people that they want to see your videos as you make them. First you need subscribers. Yes likes/views/comments are good, but subscribers is the real deal, because that is your core audience, without a 5000-10000 subscriber base you cant really make alot of money. But atleast try.
