  • Best way to sell old college books

    Hello,

I'm looking for ways to sell some of my used college books as some of them are still the latest editions out.

    Is ebay/amazon the best route?

    Thanks for the input.

If you're still in school, post flyers around campus -- there are plenty of students who will be taking the class that will pay you more than the bookstore will while saving money over what they would have had to pay. That's how I sold all my used books and everyone was happy.

A lot of colleges start Facebook groups where you can buy books from other students. Otherwise, I'd say Amazon.

        Financial Planning

Many of the college students will be benefited if they get their course books at lower price. You can consult the college administration to sell your old college books or may consult a local stationary store to sell books at low rates. Moreover, you may take help of the internet for this purpose.

Half.com is also a great place to sell books.

You may advertise them in E-bay or Amazon and get buyers. This will help you get good money out of them!

Don't sell back to the school

Don't ever sell your books back to your school unless you're in the *giving* spirit. They are not in the business of paying the worth of a book, because they know students have to get rid of them somehow, and these buy-back companies on or around campus know students are often too lazy to sell their books online.

But when your sell back to the school, you'll often only get maybe 5 to 10% of what the book is worth.

Take the time and sell them on Amazon or eBay, and you won't regret it.

                Selling back books

I agree with the above posts. The best bet is to sell to classmates and never to resell to the bookstore. You need to act fast though, because you never know when a class will decide to use a different textbook or the publisher will come out with a new addition. I would never suggest such a thing, but old exams might actually be worth more than the book itself lol.

That is a great way to make extra money I suggest you sell it to your friends or relatives instead of Ebay or Amazon.

A friend makes a few hundred a month from reselling books by using bookscouter to buy and sell books at a profit. He'll buy from one site (like Ebay) and sell to Amazon or another site for a profit. Heck, if you only only took $5 profit on each book at 5 books a day, that's an extra $750 dollars every month!

Also, if you are still in school, look out for people who are just ditching their books instead of taking them back to the store. You'd be surprised how many people don't want to take the time to sell them back.

There are sites that are made for this exact reason, though eBay is always a good bet too. Larger market and all.

I sold a LOT of books on amazon, I'm very happy with them. Just make sure you post at a reasonable price and leave it there for a few weeks BEFORE lowering the price. I accidentally posted things for too low and they sold immediately. I regretted not trying to make more $$!
