Lisa is awesome with information on blogging, adding ads on blogs and videos. I started my YouTube channel because of her 3 weeks ago.

You make money only when people click on the ads but if you are a partner you make money with views and ads.
These are really great videos. Now, I much understand how to earn through Youtube videos. I'll find some time to further study this matter.

You can use youtube as a traffic generator for your product and in the video description, you can add a link to your direct sales page. There is an option available in the youtube to apply for the youtube revenue sharing. Also you can add adsense ads with your videos.

Any hints on what you did/do on Youtube to have earned that and future plans that you can share?

Very true! It's just the same as if you were blogging... don't just make videos about what you know or what you think others "might" be interested in. Make videos on stuff that interests you! If you are pumped up about it, others will see that and be drawn to it!

As a wise person once said, "Do what you love, the money will follow". At least hopefully you will see the opportunities that present themselves to you for making money doing what you love. I have read more than one article on a woman who is completely blind and makes quilts by the dozen for sale. If she can do it why can't I???

I have good advice you need at least 50, 000+ subscribers to be making any kind of money or career from YouTube. After a YouTube success try getting your own website and use blip.tv or another private hosting site that pays you on ad revenue.

You have to be very creative individual and willing to work hard on it. Also don't get frustrated by initial lack of viewers. It takes a long time to develop loyal following so just keep at it.
This sums it up pretty well - but with emphasis on the LONG TIME bit...

Agreed. My channel involves a hobby that hasn't changed much, but a lot of people are getting into it and are looking for guidance. I don't make a ton of money, but most of it gets "re-invested" into supplies for additional videos...kind of like compounding.

Don't you just love a hobby that makes enough money to support itself?

Making money with youtube is not an easy task to do. but if you are creative and have an excellent content writing skill then you can grow.

This is true. I have over 1000 subscribers and about 250k views. My videos look and sound pretty polished: I use a wireless mic, use a tripod, the scenes are well-lit, there are many takes to get the wording right, speak clearly, I post part numbers and costs, and I reply to all emails and questions. I also have a blog that is closely linked to my youtube channel.

Setup and build your YouTube account.
Create your account or use your existing one. Add keywords to help people find your channel. Also select a type of account that specifies more of what you do. (i.e - Director accounts are for short film makers and such). Your user name can also work for, or against you. If its short, easy to remember and original people that see your videos will be more apt to remember you. However if you are using an existing account, just stay with it. It doesn't help if you keep changing accounts

                                Add content.
To get started, begin adding content. Try to upload content that is high quality, and isn't super long. Also try to upload regularly and stay consistent with your uploads. Even if your content isn't great at first, keep at it. Practice makes perfect. Try to make each video better than the last. You will often learn as you go.
Improve your content by either using a better camera or trying better editing software or techniques. Also try to improve the way things are filmed. Use a tripod, have a friend help you or light your scenes better. It all helps for a better end product which in turn helps you get a better audience. By uploading regularly you can help hold an audience. People are more likely to subscribe if you add content on a more scheduled basis and are consistent in adding content often.

                                Gain an audience.
Keep uploading content and try to get people hooked. Send your video out on Twitter and Facebook. Share it with people. Distribute it elsewhere on the internet. Subscribers are essential to becoming a partner. (While you can get paid by having viral videos, this is extremely rare).

                                Become a YouTube partner.
Becoming a Partner involves work. Often a lot of it. While anyone can apply, It is best to have over 500 subscribers, upload good content regularly, and have either a viral video or a decent sized audience. YouTube is looking for channels in which they can sell advertising on and make money. They are also looking for channels that won't get them sued. Try to eliminate copyrighted material on your channel and in your videos.

                                Setup Google Adsense.
You can setup Google Adsense for free at Google.com/adsense. From here you click the "sign up now" button to begin. You must be 18 years or older. IF you are younger than that, you will need an adult to help you. It may be disappointing but this is something you cant fake. You need either PayPal or a bank account and a valid mailing address as well as other information so they can verify who you are and who to send the money to. You only gain money per ad click and a smaller amount per view but it adds up over time. This is why having an audience is key.

                                Market your videos elsewhere.
Don't put your videos just on YouTube! Start a blog, make a website or post them on other video or social media sites. The more views it gets, the better. By sharing the link or embedding the video on the internet, you are increasing the chance of it getting noticed and of you making money.
