• Make Money With Craigslist and Amazon Affiliate Program

Okay, I have not done this for a while, but I made a few bucks on Craiglist a while back doing this.

Go to Amazon and find something that is either on sale or at a lower than usual price that you consider a very good deal. Make sure it's not just a one day only deal. Go to craigslist and post an ad for that item. Say in the ad that you have the item. Let's use a video game as an example.

Let's say your selling Call Of Duty 4. It's on sale on Amazon for $25 and it's a pretty good deal. Post the add on craigslist for the game, mark it down by $5. So sell it on Craigslist for $5 cheaper than what it costs on Amazon.

People will contact you if it is a good deal on the product. A lot of people are lazy and don't shop around. Most of them automatically thing that it's a low price because it's on Craigslist.

They will email you for the game. This is how you respond...

Wow, I just sold it to someone else. I'm so sorry, I feel horrible. To be honest it's only $5 more on Amazon right now and you can get it sent to you with free shipping. (Anything over $25 on Amazon is free shipping.) If you picked the game up it probably would have cost you $5 in gas anyway... It's your call but since you were the only other person that hit me up for the game I figured I would point you in the right direction. Hopefully the deal is still going on, here is the link to get there.

Post your link.

Now, before any of you cry spam, think about what you did. You put yourself in a Win/Win scenario. You win because you get commission if they buy, they win because they get the game for the price they truly wanted. This method has worked for me in the past, sometimes you get 50-100 responses on one item, if the item you found on Amazon is truly a good deal, they will bite. There is no reason for them not too. People know and trust Amazon.

***Disclaimer***

I have not read the TOS for Amazon in a long time, I have no idea if this is against it. More than likely it's ok, because they are clicking through to Amazon from their email. Never post your link on Craigslist itself, that could get you banned.

If you want help finding good deals on amazon go do slickdeals . net or fatwallet . com. They constantly post great deals, when you see one post the add. Aim for deals that will be going on for a bit, that way you have a little time to respond.

Also, be careful posting ads on craigslist. They have incredibly intelligent and savvy spam filters. Don't go crazy, just post one ad at a time. If you do this wisely craigslist will never bother you. If you try to get too spammy by posting tons of ads, you will have a hard time ever posting on CL again.

With all that being said, if you feel the reward is worth the risk, get out there and do some work!

I just read the TOS and I saw nothing against advertising on Craigslist, but I did find this:

You must, however, clearly state the following on your site: “[Insert your name] is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to [insert the applicable site name (amazon.com, endless.com, smallparts.com or myhabit.com)].”

I've purchased one day deals at an exceptionally lower price than what they sell for on any other given day, then re-sell it on craigslist for a profit.

It's a nifty technique. I wonder how many people thought about doing this kind of thing?

The free section of Craigslist is a gold mine, if you know how to mine it! If you don’t, no worries, as I am about to teach you how to make money using Craigslist.

1- Register For Free
Go to Craigslist.org and register for a free account, if you already don’t have one. You can register for free, and it only takes a few seconds.

2- Find Free Items
Search your local Craigslist, and look for free items that are in good shape (which most of them are). Sometimes you have to contact the owner to let them know you are going to pick it up, but in most cases, they will put the item in front of their drive way, which you just have to stop by to pick it up. A pickup truck would be very handy here, as it will allow you to pick up bigger items. But you can get by even without a truck.

3- Clean Up
This step is the “hardest” part of making money with Craigslist. If possible, spend a few minutes to clean it up, or whatever it needs to make it look better. For example, if it’s a desk, put a fresh coat of paint on it. Just make the item look as nice as you can.

4- Take Pictures
When people look for stuff to buy on Craigslist or anywhere else for that matter, they tend to click on ads with pictures. People want to see what it looks like. So, spend a few minutes taking a few pictures of the item from different angles.

5- List Your Item
Now you need to list your item on Craigslist. Login, and list your item in the “For Sale” category, under the appropriate section. This is very important, make sure you find and list your item under the right section. For example; if the item is a chair, list it under “Furniture”.

If the item has some history to it, or there is anything interesting about it, use that to add a nice description for the item, even if it’s just a few words. In your ad, make sure you put your phone number or email address, so people can get in touch with you quickly.

6- Repeat The Process
Now that you have listed your first item, go back and keep looking for other free stuff. Do this over and over again. After a while, you will know what items sell easier and faster, and what kinds of items don’t. As you do this over and over, you will gain some experience, and the process becomes much faster and easier.

This is all it takes for making money on Craigslist, free. In a few hours or so, you will start to get calls and emails from people who want to buy the item. It is unbelievable how easy it is to make money with this method.

There are many people today in this same situation from all works of life. Affiliate programs are really good. But it is not easy. I have been doing this over 5 years now. Education is the key to your success.

What I have discovered in the past five years is that, your learning curve will become very short, if you get together with an affiliate system that is already setup correctly, so that all you need to do is to send traffic to the site. This is where a lot of people fail. To get the links is not a problem, but generating significant qualified traffic to the site is where the problem lies.
Many people are not willing to learn the ropes of internet marketing. If you are willing to learn and implement what you learn, I will be glad to share with you, two of my most profitable affiliate setups. If you don't get educated in internet marketing, then you need to forget about affiliate programs. But if you are willing to learn, then by all means, it will help you get out of your auto industry and to spend time with your family. Many won't tell you this, because they want you to join an affiliate program and then off they are gone.

But yes, you can plug in to an affiliate program, that is ready and where you can learn how to promote your affiliate link, not only using craigslist, but social networks, forums, video marketing on sites like youtubes, metacafe and many other internet marketing techniques.

Like I said, the important thing is to be willing to learn effective internet marketing. Affiliate program rocks and yes you can quit your job if you learn how to do it right.

Here is a simple code, you can use to place your affiliate link on craigslist:

Enter Here What You Want People To See

Change the url in between " " to your affiliate link:

Hope this helps you.
