Great question. I'd say the answer really depends on the situation. If you do not have enough money to meet your basic needs, you'd probably say money is more important. If, however, you have sufficient money to pay your bills and enjoy your life, you'd likely put more value on your time.Originally posted by scotland View PostTime = Money, but which one is more important.
Years ago, I valued money more for the most part.
Today, I value time more. I made a lifestyle job change 11 years ago to a place with fewer hours, less on call time and no weekend hours. I took a substantial pay cut but I (and my family) am much happier and more relaxed.Steve

At my house lately, TIME! DH has been doing most of the car repairs, but has had limited time to do things. Repairs were starting to back up a bit and suddenly the cost to get it done at a shop seemed WELL WORTH it. He was going to kill himself fixing everything if we didn't pay someone else to do some of the jobs. Worth every penny.Originally posted by scotland View PostI prefer happiness to money.
Money pays the bills so obviously I need a bit.
Time = Money, but which one is more important.

I don't neccesarily love money but I do love financial freedom. At this stage of my life I pretty much have that and am completely satisfied. If I had millions I could have more stuff but I don't think I'd really be happier. Money is neccesary to live the life you want but obsessing over it will just drive you crazy. I love debt freedom more than any money I might accumulate. There are plenty of debt ridden millionaires out there who aren't particularly happy."Those who can't remember the past are condemmed to repeat it".- George Santayana.

I do not generally quote the bible but
1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil: which some reaching after have been led astray from the faith, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows.I YQ YQ R

I think the majority of us love money, but I hope you don't let it consume you and make your entire universe revolve around it. Unfortunately I know a fair few millionaires and I can honestly say a number of them they aren't as happy as my family and I.
Money doesn't make you happy.. but it can help

Be careful what you put your trust in!
Also, I would challenge you to consider that time is not money! Time is far more valuable than any money!!!!
Time is finite. You only get so much of it. Somewhere, someone controls a printing press and can make almost infinite amounts of money, making it worth less. (worthless)
Money is an important tool, no doubt. But relationships with those around you are what matter.
