Be a designated driver for friends on weekends.

If you are paying for housing, see if there is an older person living nearby that will trade room for basic house maintenance. This isn't earning, but means you won't be paying which means you can put the money elsewhere.

Just throwing this out there from personal experience:

I've found that survey sites are not all they are cracked up to be. True, you CAN get paid to take surveys, but here is an example of how it works:

      1. Sign up
      2. Request a Survey
      3. Find out you can't take a good portion of the surveys because you don't qualify
      4. Get a survey finally and get midway through it before being told that your information doesn't qualify you to finish the survey.
      5. Finally finish a survey after 45 minutes (That could have been spent studying) and get 3 points.
      6. Go to redeem points and find out you need 1000 just to get $20.
      7. Face palm
      8. ?????
      9. No profit

That has been my past experience with it. I understand it is not easy, but if I have to spend hours a day taking surveys online then it is not a practical approach because I could spend that time studying, working, or doing something else more productive. Perhaps someone else knows of a worthwhile site? One that is legit and doesn't take an eternity just to get ten dollars.

Pragmatist, there are definitely a ton of legit survey sites out there, but you're never going to be making very much. It's just extra money. However, your example does seem to be a little extreme. A legitimate survey site will email you surveys; you don't request them. And they generally pay $1-3 for a 30 minute survey.

Affiliate sites have been a good way to make money if you van find an unexploited niche - harder and harder these days of course!

Drop-shipping can be good too, but watch the legal side and returns on products as that can kill a drop-shipper.

Social sites can be used to market your site for free, if you can manage this properly then you can do well.

          Good Luck.

While looking at these ideas, I was reminded of one of the MANY ways I worked my way through college in the mid 70's (pre-historic I know, not a computer or cell phone in site). One of the things I did was read for a blind student some of her required reading for classes. If I had those same classes I could count the reading as my required time as well.

Helping handicapped students of all types for all sorts of things should be another way to work around your class schedule and earn at the same time. Just because campuses are now much more open and welcoming to the disabled, doesn't mean they can do everything for themselves at this point

Anyone going into social work or nursing/medical field, this would help get you acquainted with some aspects of your eventual career -- assuming you are a college student that actually goes into the field that you just studied for! I just saw a short article in my local paper about a guy that got his degree in political science yet now is working in plaster systems. I see that sort of thing a lot! LOL

It may be hard to get hours that coincide with your class schedule. Plus many of those part time jobs are already filled up. In my case, long ago, I was going to college in another country and could not legally work off campus, so if I needed toothpaste or laundry money I had to find a way to make it from right where I was. I did a lot of typing for guys since back in the 70's no guy in his right mind ever signed up for typing class as no guy was following a secretary career path. LOL
