I can answer later or tomorrow after I update my spreadsheet.

That said, a question like this with absolutely no context really doesn't tell you much. How old are you? How much do you earn? Do you have a pension? Does your spouse work? If so, how much do they earn and do they have a pension?

    If I have 500K saved and I'm 30, that's a whole lot different than if I have 500K saved and I'm 64.

Probably should include age as well. $50k in retirement at age 40 isnt good. $50k in retirement at age 20 is good.

I don't know how to do a double poll here.

Maybe roll it into one figure by offering a range of retirement savings to age ratios?

But, I dunno, I don't think these polls lately are getting enough responses to even be very interesting. I get the feeling that there are only about 50 people reading here, and that only 30 are responding. Sometimes in the past with more responses both to the polls and in the associated discussion, it seemed more useful or interesting to me....But let's see what response you get today.

I retired at 46. But the only way I could do that is cash out my retirement savings and invest in a couple of businesses that throw off about $250K profit a year. As a result I have no retirement savings anymore.

Do I need to start saving for retirement again, for when I retire from retirement?

I'm 40. I have a paid off house and I am also trying to buy rental properties which is slowing my savings rate. I have 1 rental now. I still do at least 20% to retirement above my pension. My base salary is $45,000 with plenty of overtime. The cash value of my pension will mean nothing if I work here till 55 and use the pension payments. I have to put in 6% of my salary to the pension.

                  457b $44,687.95
                  457b ROTH $7,023.29
                  ROTH IRA $36,588.00
                  State Pension $53,583.26

                  Total $141,883.14

Between IRAs, past and current 401(k)s and some individual stocks, my husband and I (in our 50s) have about 6 x our annual income. I'm ratcheting up savings in IRA and the k plan, and hope to see a slightly better multiple in the next few years.

Not sure how all of the other voters did it, but I submitted mine as a couple.

Our recorded high was $680k one day last month. We are currently done about $8k from that amount. That does not include our paid off house, which is conservatively (my opinion) valued by Zillow at $174k.

                      Ages 47 and 45.
