I generally enjoy hearing and discussing questions and exchanging opinions with people with different points of view, but once in awhile I realize that there are some with whom I'd prefer to have no interaction.
Thanks. I was looking for "blacklist" or "block", and missed "ignore".

What's the purpose of Ignore User, if the forum keeps pestering you about it?

(When you blocked a user in YouTube, it truly blocked all of that person's posts from your view, as if they didn't exist. Very, very Soviet... )

I don't recall this. I think the people I "Ignored" may be long gone from the forums. dawnwes - Does it show up in a thread that the user you ignored posted (with the post redacted unless you choose to click on something to see it)? The forum doesn't send you an actual notification, do they?

I''m the same way. I want to see what people are posting, even the really annoying people.

Plus in the case of this site, I'm a moderator so it's kind of my job to see everything.

I live in a very low cost of living area compared to you guys. I"m only at 100%. *Zillow has the house a lot lower than my last appraisal I got last July for a refi.

              I don't like this game
Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes that reason is you're stupid and make bad choices.

If it is indeed a game, I won't be too quick to call those with the highest numbers the winners. Sure, if you're house has gone up in value a lot since you bought it, that's a win. But, I think it's also a win to have bought a house you can easily afford.

Lord knows if I had ever seen real estate that cheap I would have snatched it up!

But, that's the thing about higher cost regions. There are certainly trade-offs, and higher appreciation is generally the reward for paying more for your home. (Certainly in my experience). As such, I find "house value as percentage of income or assets" to be a completely worthless measure. But I say that living in a state with very high housing appreciation.

There's no motive behind this thread, just a quick reaction to another post on house sqft to income ratio from another poster.

Anyway, come to think of it, both threads are probably meaningless since $/sqft and value are both location dependent and so is most people's income.
