What are the financial risks of driving for Uber?

I have a friend who drives for Uber and suggested I should do the same. What are the financial risks of doing so? if I'm driving someone for pay, will my insurance still cover me if there is an accident? Anyone have information on this?

I'm an insurance agent and I can tell you that if my company found out you had an accident driving for Uber the claim would be denied. You would need to carry a commercial policy. Hope this helps!
