By "bike" I'm assuming you mean "motorcycle"?
If that's the case, where are you? US or abroad?
If you're in the us, I'd get quotes from all the big name companies and check out some smaller ones too. Progressive, Geico, State Farm, Allstate, etc.
When I owned a sportbike, State Farm consistently had the best rates, especially when coupled with a car or homeowner's policy. I was 24 at the time, so premiums were naturally high on a 116hp bike.
I carried comp and collision because it was a nice bike and still had a lot of value. The most important coverages, however, are your liability and uninsured/under-insured liability coverages. Bodily injury is usually much more severe in a bike accident, and if you tango with a typical driver that's only carrying state minimum liability, you want to be sure to have the ability to recover from your own policy if you need to (especially if you are carrying a passenger- multiply cost of injuries x2). Personal injury protection on a bike policy is almost prohibitievely expensive to carry.
Also check on any exclusions on motorcycle accidents in any regular health insurance that may also cover you, and understand what it could (or might not) cover if you are in an accident. This is all good stuff to know, research, and write down somewhere.
Sigh. Not to get all heavy on the subject, but if you haven't done any other life planning (will, power of attorney, living will, electing beneficiaries, guardians for children, etc- aka "getting your estate in order"), now is the time (before you start riding).
Good luck!History will judge the complicit.
